Whatever happened to Mad Cow Disease?!

Question: Whatever happened to Mad Cow Disease!?
Is the tomato and jalapeno crisis just a form of this media driven paranoia, or are these real issues!? What does the media gain from keeping people away from a certain food type!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It is still very much a concern for farming!. We ( farming ) have learned to manage it!.

As we have with Avian Flu, TB, Blue Tongue and Foot and Mouth

The media moves on!. They love doom and gloom, it sells papers and creates a "need" to hear more bad news - its the classic "1984" scenario!. The more big brother tells you there are problems the less likely you are to object!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It helps reduce the number of people who are killed while those who protect the food supply are able to issolate the problem!. Mad Cow disease is controled in the U!.S!. largely by limiting where cattle and beef can be imported from!. I believe it is still a problem in some parts of the world but is not in the food supply!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm sure they are all real issues, but the media goes overboard!. For some reason, the media companies that keep us the most scared are the most successful, so they compete with each other to be the scariest!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The media loves new disasters!. They do not care what they are!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i hope they wiped it out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The mad cow died!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

its still floating around i thinkWww@FoodAQ@Com
