Trying vegetarian, which common ingredients do I avoid?!

Question: Trying vegetarian, which common ingredients do I avoid!?
I'm trying vegetarian + fish/seafood (don't know what to call that) and I've been doing it for about a week now!. I've been checking labels, but don't have a clue what most of it means!. I know things like lard and gelatin are common and should be avoided, what are some others to stay away from!? I've looked online but I keep coming up with vegan, and that's much more strict than I want!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Well!.!.!.!.Meat!.

Textured proteins!.
Anything that says "hydrolized proteins"
That means that they are proteins extracted from bones, skins, or hooves!. These are found in many protein bars and the like!.

Look for broths, as many foods are enhanced with these, and remain fairly well hidden!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you would be considered a pescatarian,
look out for flavorings that say beef, pork, etc!.
no gelitan, which means no:jello, marshmallows, frosted poptarts, starbursts, skittles, gummy candies, shredded wheaties,
and of course anything with any meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

hey, ive been vegetarian for about 2 months now!.
gelatine should be avoided,
lard,
most jellies,
and general meat and fish :)

Good luck!
