Which vegan foods are high in taurine?!
Taurine is a amino acid often toted to be high in meats but often deficient in vegan products!. I believe there are vegan foods out there high in taurine and want to find out what others know on the subject!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Taurine is not an amino acid!. Your lower intestine produces it (I think) so it is not totally necessary to include it in your food!.
Besides, almost all vegetables contain a little of all the essential amino acids, if I'm not mistaken!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know that energy drinks usually have taurine in them, but I'm not sure which ones are vegan!.
BUT, taurine is a nonessential amino acid, which means that it is manufactured from other amino acids in the liver; it does not have to be obtained directly through the diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They aren't!. But as long as you get a sufficient supply of other amino acids you will be fine!. You don't actually *need* taurine in your diet (cats and other carnivores need it to survive, but we don't)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
None!. Humans do not need taurine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
