Answers:
Barley water: bring a cup of dehulled barley, one orange or lemon cut into sections, and six cups of water to a boil!. Simmer forty five minutes!. Cool and strain!.

Veggie broth: chop half a head of cabbage, a large potato, a couple of celery ribs, and one small carrot!. Cover with water and simmer in a large sauce pan!.

I don't know if there's such a thing as vegan gelatin!. I assume so!. But I hate jiggly foods, so I've never tried to find out!. You might try a tomato aspic!. Recipes for that are pretty widely available!.

Good luck with your surgery!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
