Considering going ovo-vegetarian or lacto-vegetarian. any suggestions?!?!

Question: Considering going ovo-vegetarian or lacto-vegetarian!. any suggestions!?!!?
I have been a lacto-ovo vegetarian for about 5 years now and I would like to cut out either eggs or dairy (preferably dairy because of its contribution to the veal industry)!. However, I was wondering which would be easier to stop!. If I was eating at a restaurant, do you think it would be easier to find dishes without eggs or dishes without dairy!? Even if I cut out dairy, I still wouldn't be eating eggs alone - I would just be eating them if they are mixed into the ingredients (like with cookies)!. Which way do you think would be healthier considering that I wouldn't be eating much egg anyway!? Thanks, guys!Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's great you're thinking about cutting out eggs or dairy!. I think it would be easier to stop eating eggs!. You could still have things like cheese pizza, quesadillas, grilled cheese, burritos with sour cream, etc!. Other than desserts, there aren't too many vegetarian dishes that contain eggs at restaurants!. also, there's more cruelty in the egg industry from what I've seen!. (About 95% eggs come from factory farms, and each egg represents more than 24 hours of suffering in a battery cage!.)

Eggs are loaded with cholesterol and saturated fat!. I think it would be healthier to cut out eggs than to cut out dairy!. Either way, good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

considering dairy is incorporated into basically everything, it would be extremely difficult to cut out dairy!. but one way to do it at restaurants is to simply ask if the dish in question is prepared with milk or cheese!. but all resaurants serve salads-and it's easy to ask them to skip the cheese!. and one way to avoid dairy in your own dishes is to use soy milk!. also try to look up vegan and vegetarian restaurants in your area-they usually post whether a dish has dairy or eggs!. good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Eggs when left alone in the natural world become chickens!. Milk is a whole other thing altogether and doesn't take anyone's life!. Additionally, you are saving the cow a lot of pain because if she isn't milked on time she is suffering!. So if anything remove the eggs which are another source of Salmonella Poisoning and there are great ways to prepare cakes and even quiche etc without them!. When I went lacto-ovo to just lacto, it was pretty easy, since my family doesn't do eggs!. Just use egg replacer in pancakes/waffles, don't eat certain types of junk food and pasta, and presto! lacto-veg!. I also lost around 20 pounds because most of my egg intake was in the form of junk food, not real eggs!.

I'd say since you're pretty ambivalent about which to give up, just minimize both in general, until you see which one for you is easier to give up!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
