Answers:
POSSIBLY SHE WAS EATING THAT BECAUSE SINCE CORNSTARCH EXPANDS SO WELL WHEN IT GETS WET , SHE WAS USING IT AS CHEAP ALTERNATIVE TO MORE COMMERCIAL DIET PRODUCTS WHICH DO THE SAME THING TO CURB THE APPETITE THOUGH SHE WOULD LIKELY FIND EASIER TO GO DOWN IF SHE WERE TO MIX WITH A CUP OF WATER OR A FAVORITE BEVERAGE!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I believe that in medical school, pica was defined as the persistent craving and compulsive eating of non-food substances OR substances which go into the making of food but are not normally eaten by themselves as a food!.

People have been known to eat a list of substances which go into the making of foods!. I don't want to name them in case someone decides to try them out of curiosity!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've heard of pregnant women or persons with certain deficiencies eating cornstarch!. The craving is called pica!.

Similar to persons craving magnesium craving cashews!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

PICA--an eating disorder where someone eats things that are usually non-consumable (even though corn starch is a "food" item--it's not typically consumed straight)!. I used to have a senior management coworker who always carried a box with her because she had that disorder!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cornstarch makes a good ingredient for some recipes, but how could someone eat it straight!? Like with a spoon!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

you mean she was just eating it straight, cause there's others ways to eat it/make it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

She was trying to lose weight the in a low cost way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ummm!.!.!.maybe you were mistaken!.!.!.I never saw anyone eat cornstarch!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
