Are you still considered a vegetarian if you eat clams and other shellfish?!

Question: Are you still considered a vegetarian if you eat clams and other shellfish!?
Answers:
If you wanna call yourself one, sure, go for it!.!.!.stuck up vegetarians who get mad at that are working themselves up over nothing!. I don't eat any meat, but I occasionally take a fish oil supplement, and I still consider myself vegetarian!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

True vegetarians don’t eat the flesh of animals!. Full stop!. End of story!.

Last time I looked things like fish, clams and other shellfish were still made of flesh!.

So obviously the answer to your question is NO!.

Well said VeggieTa - you got a thumbs up from me!. I know exacly how you feel!. This question is almost as annoying as the animal crackers one!. ;)

I don't class myself as a vegan because sometimes (about three times a year) I still eat fish!.

And I still wear a pair of leather shoes!. I have had them for years and they are still in good condition, so don't want to throw them out just yet!.

But 99!.99!.99% of the time I follow a proper vegan based diet!.

But I don't “label” or call myself a vegan because obviously I am not one because of the fish consumption and leather shoes!.

So once I stop eating fish and throw the leather shoes out, I can call myself a vegan, since the vegan movement is a way of life, not just the food you eat!.

This stupid question has been asked so many times!. NO!!! NO!!! NO!!! The answer is no, and no matter how many times clueless folks ask, the answer will STILL be no!

If you eat the flesh of any animal you are NOT--I repeat NOT--considered a vegetarian!. And clams and shellfish are ANIMALS!.

For Gaia's sake do a bloody search before you ask for the hundredth time this week if vegetarians eat sea creatures!. They don't, okay!? And I don't care what Merriam-Webster says, pescetarian is an idiotic word!. Why can't you just say you don't eat any meat but seafood!? How hard is that!?

I'm sorry I got so angry, but as I said, I've seen a variant on this question at least three times this week already!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
