Question: I want to be a vegetarian! i need help!
i want to go vegetarian, but i want to ease into it i dont want to just be like bam no more meat, at the present dont eat red meat but i do eat chicken and fish, i go to school so i need to eat vegetarian at schopol, i want to be a little bit healthier and i like organic stuff but it isnt neccessary so if u have any ideas or tips into how to ease into becoming a vegetarian i'd much appreciate it btw im 12 almost 13Www@FoodAQ@Com

Easing into becoming a vegetarian is pretty easy, despite the harsh comments people give!. At MOST schools,most of the "meats" are soy, make sure to ask the lunch ladies if they are or not!. I know at my school the burgers and things were soy burgers, not "Real" meat since its more expensive, etc etc!. There are a lot of Veg-Beginners guides on the Internet!. I've linked you to one that will send you a starter kit to get you ready and going!. Just make sure you get yr essential nutrients(since yr so young,you might want to look into vitamins and things)

I became a vegetarian when I was eleven and I just started slowly eating less meat and more veggie burgers but sometimes I have to eat meat because that's what's put in front of me!. Fish is sometimes not considered meat and it's important to get meat or meat substitutes such as eggs, beans, and nuts in your diet!. You should pack your own lunch if you're going to be a vegetarian at school but many school cafeterias offer vegetarian subsitutes!. Read books on becoming a vegetarian!. It will help convince you to eat healthier!. Don't force your family to cut out meat from the fridge if it offends you, because they'll make fun of you and resent you!.

I got my own seperate minature fridge when I was 21!. That's the only thing I wanted for Christmas!. I ate vegetarian meals at all costs!. When I went to my friend's house, I brought my own food!. If they had dinner invites, I'd bake them a vegetarian cake or muffins out of soy flour, and they don't know the difference!.

The best way to go vegetarian is to eat nothing without a face!. Do it immediately and you are trully vegetarian!. Seek the help of your health practioner first before you start any alternative food changes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I was a vegitarian, but it was extremely unhealthy!. Eating no meat makes you extremely pale and un-naturally tired!. I lost over 20 pounds and it was not cool!. Most public schools have alternate options for their menus, taking in consideration that they arent the healthiest items in the place!. Being healthier doesnt mean not eating meat or eating less, it means you need to incorprate all the food groups into your diet!.
If you still decide to become a vegitarian you should eat tofu!. Its super gross if you just eat it out of the package!. There are different types of tofu!. You can cook it, grill it, or make smoothies and stuff with it!. Check online for different recipes!.

Talk to your parents about your decision to become a vegetarian!. It will be a lot easier if they are supportive, because they are the ones who buy food for your house!. I recommend good meat substitutes such as the morning star products!. also, try making big salads lots of different things in them!. I'm not sure what kinds of options your school offers for lunch!. Rice and beans are good things to eat instead of meat!. You have to be careful about vegetarianism, because it's easy to go about it the wrong way!. There are a lot of nutrients in meat that you have to find a way to get without meat!. !. !. because of this, a lot of vegetarians are not healthy at all!. Google it and read up on it before you commit yourself!. also, there are different kinds of vegetarians!. Some eat dairy and eggs, but some stricter diets have no eggs and no dairy of any kind!. I am 15, so I go to high school!. Personally, I found it was easier for me to just cut all meat out cold turkey (however, I did eat fish for 3 weeks because I had some twisted illusion that it wasn't meat)!. I read a book 3 weeks ago called "A Teen's Guide To Going Vegetarian" it was grrrreat! It went over everything I needed to know!. I read it after I'd been a vegetarian for 3 weeks so, I didn't need to know how to start it, but I read it anyway!. I think the easiest thing to do is too cut out one food group at a time!. For instance, try to cut out chicken for a month and see how you do!. This includes all chicken body products, and turkey if your up to it (bouillon, stock, etc!.) I am 14 and I was a Vegetarian for a year
You need to spend extra money on Protein powder and Vitamins
And I got very sick while I was Vegetarian
My doctor told me to stop until I am done growing
So around 18 or 19 I will be able to return to Vegetarian

You should also wait until you are 19 or 20
If you are in your teens becoming Vegetarian is unheathy and you will not grow properly
Becoming Vegan won't allow you to have Milk Eggs Cheese
and you need to have all those

But you can become a "Swing-Vegetarian"

"Swing-Vegetarian" you just eat meat twice a week to stay healthy and grow

But other than that don't become a Vegetarian when you're 13

My father is a vegetarian, but i am not!. You stopped eating red meat that's a good start!.
next you might want 2 eliminate chicken and then ease down 2 fish!.
there is also a VERY good meat substitute called MORNING-STAR FARMS!.
they have fake chicken, beef, pork, all!. and its actually good!.
u can find it at any grocery store!.

hey!. being a vegetarian isn't as hard as you think!. What you can do is stop eating a certain type of meat for a while and then slowly cut down on the types of meat you eat!. If you are going to become a lacto-vegetarian (no eggs) then cut down on eggs last after you stop eating meat!. hope this helped! Www@FoodAQ@Com

if your going veggie at that age, get LOTS of protein, so like nuts, peanut butter, etc!.
cause youll become anemic if you dont!.

being a vegitarian is pretty difficult and maybe not the healthiest thing to do because you need alternative protien sources and stuff - my friend got all these bruises because she couldn't get enough of certain minerals and nutrients into her systemWww@FoodAQ@Com

Okay, it's REALLY hard for me because I love meat and I used to eat it every single day!. It's okay! Morning Star has the best soy chicken patties and Boca has the best fake burgers!. Always remember applesauce, chips, cheeses, and of course, fruits and veggies are totally non-meat! School is difficult!. You'll probably have to bring your lunch if they don't serve things like cheese quesadillas, mozzarella sticks, french fries, or whatever!. Peanut butter and jelly, different kinds of pastas!.!.!.!.everyone thinks vegetarianism is all about salad but there's so much more you can eat! Morning Star makes chicken nuggets, buffalo wings, patties, and their own kind of burgers!. The corn dogs are pretty good too! Morning Star and Boca only make vegetarian food!. They're amazing!.

Oh- and the Boca and Morning Star things have tons of protein in them, just like a regular burger, chicken nugget, whatever!. Always remember to eat protein in a day if you don't have something like that!. Nuts, peanut butter, whatever!. The only problem I have is lack of potassium, which is in bananas and believe it or not, Morton salt!. =)
