How am i supposed to react? My bestest friend crush is going vegan and I find that troubling for no reason!

Question: How am i supposed to react!? My bestest friend crush is going vegan and I find that troubling for no reason
I know I am supposed to be supportive of her decision because after all it is her decision!. But it's kind of weird for me because I really love meat (and I'm supposed to be Hindu for God's sake!) She was telling me the other day how she refuses to go to fast food places or any other places that serves chemically enhanced food!. This breaks my heart b/c I personally <3 fast food and it fits my college lifestyle!. She prefers going to vegan places and I'm fine with that but I don't want to go there all the time!. But I really like her so I would probably end up going to those places anyways to torture my tastebuds!. I really don't like tofu but I don't have the heart to tell her b/c I really like her!. A lot!. But I feel with her new vegan thing she's going to drift away from me b/c I can never share that belief with her!. It's one connection I feel that we will never have and we are really good friends in the first place because of how easily we can connect with each other!. But she's taking this vegan thing too seriously and I feel that if I tell her I'm not into it as much as she is, she'll probably not like me as much as I like her now!. Being vegan just isn't me and even if I try (which I probably will), I feel that it won't work out!. But I respect her decision and still think she should give this diet her all!. I don't know what to tell her though!. Everytime she talks about it I have nothing really to say (and that's weird b/c she is the one person that makes my shy self jabber away) because I don't really know what to say!. I just say "that's cool" but it sounds very half-hearted and I think she knows!. She thinks I'm into it also because she is always inviting me to eat vegan food and I of course go along b/c I like her like her and I don't want to say no to her - ever!. But then everytime I eat the food it just doesn't work out and i have to hide my vomit in my throat!. No offense!. But I only do this because I really like her!. Am I wrong for doing this!? Should I just tell her the truth or wait!? Thanks for the advice and sorry if this was confusing or offensive!.

I'm a bi girl btw!. Just in case you were wondering!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Buy yourself a good vegan cook book, or look up lots of recipes online!. This way you can find some food that you actually DO like to eat!. Once you've got the recipes you can cook some tasty meals for the two of you!. Taking her to your house for lunch (or packing lunches for the two of you and bringing them) would probably be MUCH appreciated!.

I don't think its vegan food that you really hate!. After all vegan just means no meat or animal products!. What you do need to consider is what flavors you don't like that seem to creep into vegan food!. So if you passionately hate cucumbers, don't eat food with them in it!. If you hate basil, avoid it!. Figure out what is grossing you out so very much about the food you have tried and find something else to eat on the menu!. Tofu is something that has to be well prepared to be tasty and by no means does every restaraunt or cook accomplish the feat!. So before you mark tofu off as a terrible food, consider preparing it yourself or trying it at other restaraunts!.

If you just can't live without dead animal parts in your food (I can't either), then you will just have to see if your friend can live with that!. If she cannot tolerate your request to run through McDonalds to get yourself a burger before you head to her restaraunt, then she is not a reasonable vegan!. If she has to give you a lecture every time she sees you with a potato chip, she's crossed the line between making her own choices and forcing them down your throat!. Usually vegans and vegetarians are respectful of other diet choices and won't complain if you ask politely to be accomodated!. So while you can't expect her to make a turkey for Thanks giving, you can ask to bring your own ice cream in for dessert!.

Talk to your friend about how vegan food just isn't your thing and ask to eat places that have options for both of you!. A vegan should be able to understand that not all people are meant to eat the same way, and should be willing to work with you!.

You both have your differences!.
Tell her how you think it's wrong, but you can't help it!.
Maybe when you're just not around her, don't eat meat or anything!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I suggest that you:

First, get over it!. Your friend gets to choose what they put in their body!.

Second, learn from the example!. Sounds like you have nasty eating habits and could use some improvement!.

Third, open your mind!. Vegan food can be totally delicious!. I had vegan lasagna from my local health food market today for lunch!.!.!.I'm not a veggie and wouldn't have thought to order it but a friend highly recommended it!. It was sooooooo yummy!.!.!.and it didn't even have cheese on it! Go figure!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No offense, but your explanation is entirely too long to read!. If you really want people to help you, make it short and simple!.!.!.straight to the point!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a old biker and "Son of a Preacher Man" (my wife's fav!. song) so to the point!.
I don't know about the "Hindu Diet", so we'll pull that out!. Now, this person you are sweet on has gone Vegan on you!. And you don't want too Blow the relationship!. So don't, not telling the truth is the fastest way too Destroy One!. Be honest but don't beat her over the head like those people who knock on your door and try too "Bring you too their version of God"!.
You need too find places that offer both!. I know, McD's or whatever your flavor is fast and tastee!. But have you watched "Super Size Me"!? (My sister owns 3 McD's) anyway back too subject!.
Go for compromises, Take her on a pic-nic and explain, make Vegan for her and some Fried Chicken for yourself and sides you both can share!. Then tell her the truth!.
Good Luck!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's not really any of your business!. She should be the same person as long as she doesn't have a problem with you not following her!.

Your sexuality has nothing to do with it either!.

I would expect paragraphs or something easier to read coming from a college student!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
