Can vegans eat organic foods?!

Question: Can vegans eat organic foods!?
aren't organic vegetables fertilized with manure since they can't use chemicals!? wouldn't that be an animal biproduct!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Good point but since ALL produce is fertilized with manures be it organically or conventionally grown (synthetic fertilizers are expensive and getting more so all the time and add zero to the soil so all good farmers will use both raw and composted manure on their fields because it builds the soil) I guess a really hard core vegan would have to grow their own or find one of the few organic farms that does not use manures or not eat produce and eat only synthetic goo!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't see why someone that is vegan couldn't eat organic if they so desire!. Some have a problem with manure - but frankly, where *I* live - I can get it with no problem at all!. I got all sorts of cattle living around where I live - they are not caged up - other than kept from roaming onto the roadways by fences!. I also know that the local farmers are not giving their cattle the hormones that the factory farms are giving their cattle!. I just have to grab the shovel - dig in - and put it where I want it!.

Depends upon where you live!. In the country, your suggestion doesn't fit the lifestyle that we live!. For those that live in the city - the factory farmers do indeed find a market from city types!.

So - really depends upon the lifestyle and where one lives!. I live in the country!. No factory farms around here!. Those that have cattle raise it for their own family and kin!. So such manure is not going to have the problem that you very well will find with the processed packaged stuff that you are going to find for sale in cities!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most of the vegans I know do not object to this!. For one, manure might just be the only thing an animal truly gives freely!.!.!. Though there's a growing movement towards "veganic" agriculture, which is organic without the use of manure or other animal-based fertilizers!. I've grown my own vegetables "veganically" for four years!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
