The one thing you cannot stand...!

Question: The one thing you cannot stand!.!.!.
What is the one thing that you continually hear from people in defense of eating animals that you absolutely can't bear!?

Mine would have to be "The purpose of animals is to be eaten by us"

I mean, really!? What right do we have to give animals their "purpose" when we are animals ourselves!? We act like we rule the world or something and can treat animals however we want!. Ugh!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Only ONE thing!? There's loads, haha!. Ummm!.!.!. here's 2!.

-When people bring up the Bible!. I'm not a Christian, so I really don't care if you think god says this or that about meat!.
-The "it's natural!" argument!. Yeah, eating animals is natural, but factory farms aren't!. You simply cannot compare the way people raise and kill animals for food to a lion hunting in the wild!.

EDIT:

-When people say cows will explode if we don't milk them, and then when you bring up the fact that they wouldn't have to be milked if we didn't force them to give birth, they say something like "lol that's a lie cows give milk naturally and we need to milk them the dairy industry HELPS THEM!!!!!!11111"Www@FoodAQ@Com

"I like when animals suffer"
"They taste good"
"God made animals for us to eat" (not only insulting God, but animals, and God believers)
"If cows and pigs were not so ugly and unlovable then we probably would not eat them"
"It's my choice" (it is your choice, but it of course is a cruel choice since it is not just you and your health involved, but animals, the earth, your children, etc)
"I NEED meat and can't live without it"
"I don't care" (It hurts when they acknowledge cruelty but don't care at all)
"Humans are above animals so we should be able to do what we want with them"

*sigh* I don't know how this world got like this!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

"It's nature, animals eat one another without conscience!."

Yes, I always think, but the meat industry is unnatural, we're not out hunting, we don't leave the carcass to rot and fertilize the soil, and when we die we don't nourish the soil either!. We instead live lives seperate from nature, the meat industry poisons our soil, we destroy the way an ecosystem should work, and when we die we are loaded with chemicals and preservatives and slammed in the soil in a chemical-stained box and further poison the soil that tried so hard to grow plants to nourish us and the animals we ate!.!.!. we have pushed nature aside to have convenience and modernity, so why backtrack to "nature is nature" to justify cruelty!?

AND!.!.!.

"Animals have no souls or consciences like we do, human beings are more valuable than animals!."

Okay, human beings constantly feel they are above animals for some reason, and the one thing they can consistently admit to having that animals don't is a conscience or ethics and moral codes!. I think since we are intelligent enough to know that animals feel and suffer, intelligent enough to be ABLE to eat a balanced vegetarian diet, it is all just a lame excuse in the end!.!.!. I mean, we use our conscience and ethics to curb our other primal urges, we don't kill or rape or steal, we have risen above primitive urges - why can't we stop our thirst for blood!? I just don't get it!.

I absolutely hate when someone offers you some meat, you decline, then they say "more for me!." As if they really need more!.

also I hate when people bring up the food chain or going against "nature"!. They must not realize that people have so many choices now that we don't need to maim, torture, and slaughter in the name of taste or convenience!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yeesh, some people will eat anything! I can't understand people who can look at another speicies and just see food!. Did you hear the crap about plants that scream when picked so we shouldn't be eating them!? The human digestive tract is made for digesting plant matter so it's PLANTS that are made to be eaten by us!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Lots of animals eat other animals!. And if we are animals ourselves it's perfectly natural to eat meat!.
But nobody knows the purpose of anything so i agree with the last part!.
I agree that a lot of humans treat other animals horribly!. The way we get most of out meat isn't natural, but is there really a good way to do it!? Other animals just rip each others heads off SO the fact that most people even try to do it "humanely" is good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your example is probably the one that bugs me the most!. It's pure arrogance!. That, and the biblical justifications!.!.!. also arrogant in its assumption that we all believe in their god and their book!.

Chuckbird, *vegans* didn't name intensive animal agriculture the world's largest contributor to global climate change!. The United Nations International Panel on Climate Change report did that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

lol the 1 thing that i cant stand is when you vegans lie so much and say stuff thats not true like the following:

---> chickens beaks are made from soft tissue and have nerves in them

----> Meat production is the # 1 producer of greenhouse gases

farm equipment is within the top 3 producers of greenhouse gases

come on if your gona lie, at least make it sound sorta plausibleWww@FoodAQ@Com

"god gave us the animals to eat" "the bible says we can eat animals"

really!? god created a complex living being, so many of them in different forms, with different complexities, with nervous systems, thoughts, brains, emotions!.!.!. for us to eat them!? wouldn't he create something well simpler!? and he gave them emotions right!? do you really think he wants us taking his creations and putting them in concentration camps and torturing them and slaughtering them!?!?!? making them suffer!?!?!? adn for what!? for us to have an overabundance of meat, and be greedy and glutenous and eat to the point of obesity, heart disease, diabetes, etc!? REALLY!? that's what god wants!?!!?!!?!!?

and yea!.!.!. the plant thing too!.!.!. "but you kill plants then!" um, so your pet dog is equivalent the the flower in the window!?! i think we both know there is a big difference!.
Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree! My mom says that when I see and burger and say "Poor cow!." She says, "Ugh, they were raised for that!."

But its disturbing how they raise them! The people throw them in dirty, tight cages and them kill the animal inhumanely!. I am never, ever eating any kind of meat, EVER again!.

Just because we are at the top of the food chain, doesn't mean we have the right to tortue and maim millions of helpless animals! If we put down our meat more humanely, I would eat meat, but I don't think that's going to change anytime soon!. :(Www@FoodAQ@Com

It annoys me when they say that it isn't a healthy way to eat because we aren't getting any protein!. It is pure ignorance!. I am a lot healthier than any meat eater!. My foods aren't injected with fat, cholesterol, antibiotics, hormones, and animal pus!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a vegan and I must admit that I'm more bothered by my fellow vegans who give meat-eaters a hard time!. I see that pretty frequently!. I think people should be able to decide for themselves what they want to eat!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I just gave everybody a thumbs up because some idiot is giving everybody thumbs down!.

My least favorite is "How do you justify killing plants!?"

Haha!. The things people say!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

"Animals are meant to be eaten because they are made out of meat" Gee! Humans are made out of meat too!. With that logic maybe we should start human sacrifice again!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

I hate the fact that so many people think meat is the only source of protein and b12!Www@FoodAQ@Com

that vegetarians are tasty too!.!.!. because they aren'tWww@FoodAQ@Com

well apes are animals,
and evolution says we are related to apes!.
so its like eating our ancestors really!.
