Is it me or does Joe M hate vegetarians?!
He's been lurking around here telling everyone to eat dead animals because (apparently) they're healthy for us (big lie)!. Joe M, stop telling people to kill themselves!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
I don't really care if eating meat is healthy or not!. I have plenty of other reasons to not eat meat!. I am very healthy on my meat-free diet!.
I don't remember this 'Joe M' specifically, but i'm familiar with his type!. They may have a 'right' to post here, but honestly what's the point!? The people reading the V/v forum are almost all either v/v or prospective v/v!. The exceptions seem to be the trolls and the small number of people who catch v/v threads on the main answers feed!.
I sympathize with your annoyance!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You're thinking I'm one of those wise-*** California vegetarians who is going to tell “them” that eating a few strips of bacon is bad for their health!. I'm not!. I say it's a free country and they should be able to kill themselves at any rate they choose, as long as their cold dead body are not blocking my driveway!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I also had seen his name a couple of times and I believe he might be against vegetarians!.
The reason why I became a vegetarian is because I had cancer as a teenager!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Meat, as part of a sensible diet is healthy, despite what all the fear mongers say!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
He's a very minor irritation, even with his made up sick vegan sister story!.
I don't know what motivates people who aren't veg*n AND don't have an intelligent contribution to make to post repeateadly on V&V - no life I guess!. Note the 'AND' - there are non-vegan V&V regulars who do make welcome and intelligent contributions (obviously Joe M doesn't fall into that category)!.
But Phoenix, you are falling into the trap of making wild and unproven claims yourself!.
For example, meat-eating is NOT directly linked to cancer - there are no foods proven to cause (or indeed prevent) cancer!. What cancer specialists are prepared to say is that a diet HIGH in meat MAY contribute to colorectal cancers, and so is a risk factor for colorectal cancer!. Very different from saying meat is directly linked with cancer!.
I'm vegan myself, but making unrealistic and unsubstantiated health claims for veg*nism does us no favours!.
** Actually no, Phoenix, they don't disagree!. Throughout, they use the word 'may' and they refer to studies - studies are not proof!.The only time they are more definite about it is when they refer to colorectal and prostate cancers, and even then they make it clear they are quoting studies, not making claims for proof of definite link!.
It's recognised that there may be a link between a diet high in meat and colorectal cancers, and it is thought possible that a diet high in meat may be a risk factor for prostate cancer!.
That's as far as cancer specialists will go, and a careful reading of the ADA/DoC document will show that that is as far as they go, too!.
The results of studies are of interest, but they aren't scientific evidence, and they are not proof!. Far, far more research needs to be done, and far more PROSPECTIVE studies would need to be done - for example, studies where at the start nobody had cancer and they were followed and their diets studied for several years, rather than RETROSPECTIVE studies where people were asked about it after they got cancer - not reliable at all; it strikes me that studies referred to in the document are likely to have been retrospective!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know who Joe M is but he has as much a right to post here as you do!. And as you have enthusiastically expressed your views (erroneous though they are) about food and health in general, so has he!. Granted he may not be as eloquent as you but he is still entitled to post what he thinks!.
I think you have as much hate in you as you accuse this Joe M person of having!. The onlly difference is the target of the hate!. And he MAY hate vegetarians (he is not here to confirm or denyit) but you DEFINITELY hate omnivores!. Even if you do not have this hate, you certainly exhibit the same pushy and self righteous qualities you have accused him of having!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
