I recently became a vegetarian. . . Help?!
I was just wondering, I became a vegetarian about a week ago!. I hope to stay one for as long as I live (I know that's a big thing to hope!), but I was wondering if I am eating right!.
I haven't been feeling lethargic or tired at all!. I've been eating at least 5-10g of protein a day since I play competitive soccer!.
I am varying my diet by eating nuts, fruits, vegetables, and some dairy!. I have also been eating tofu!.
Am I getting what I need from eating these foods!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

try this:
breakfast: [at least] one serving of whole grains, one serving of fruits, and one serving of legumes [soy milk, soy yogurt] -- not limited to, but make sure you get at least that
snack[s]: something with whole grains, whole wheat or soy, because you need to make sure you're getting enough protein [don't over do it], a fruit or a vegetable
lunch: whole grains [maybe bread!?] and a serving of vegetables
dinner: whole grains, vegetables and legumes [if you haven't already had 2 servings]
since you're in sports, you need to get enough carbs, moderate protein, and stay away from sweets and foods high in fat!. what you've got [veggie burgers and other foods and legumes] is really good, just make sure you get enough of everythingWww@FoodAQ@Com

Well so far you are doing fine!. Just make sure you eat a lot of different vegetables and grains!. You should really think about adding beans to your diet too!.
I see you don't include baked goods or soda and candy in your list!. Make sure you don't fall into the trap of eating junk food just because it is "vegetarian" and you will do well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You'll need more protein than that!. The recommended daily protein allowance in UK, Canada and US for females is at least 40-45g per day!. Consider drinking a protein shake each day, especially since you are an athlete!. It will help you get your strength and energy back!. also be sure to take a vitamin B12 supplement each day as well!.!.!.100 or more mcg's would be good!. Lack of B12 can cause weakness and lead to anemia (nerve damage)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
well it depends, do u like the vegie food!?!?!?!? if so, then i would suggest vegetable pizza or soup thats the best way to ease into it!. If u dont like it, i just wouldne do it! there is nothing wrong w/ changing ur mind!!!:)
