Cool, I'm a vegetarian too, and I worry about the same kind of thing!.

From some people I've heard, you have to vary your diet a lot!. By eating a varied amount of fruits, vegetables etc!. is good because you can get a lot of different things from there!.

Iron can be found in black eyed peas, lentils, tofu, chickpeas, fortified bread, and cereals!. Basically, just eat a lot of beans and tofu!

B12 can be found in any dairy product, such as milk!. I assume that you are a lacto-ovo vegetarian, which is one who doesn't consume any meat, but does consume dairy and eggs!.

As long as you eat a varried diet, I am sure you'll be fine!Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you're a real vegetarian you're already getting enough b-12 and iron!.

http://www!.healthalternatives2000!.com/mi!.!.!.

this is a vitamin and mineral chart for most veggies, fruits, tubers, bulbs, nuts, seeds, legumes and grains!.

remember, fresh veggies and fruits and non processed seeds, nuts and beans!.

and no, dairy doesn't have much nutritional element to it, through rumor makes that claim!. dairy is processed and full of animal fats!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

All vegetarians should take a B12 supplement since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yet still have a lower b12 status than recommended!.

There are vegetarian and vegan B12 supplements since B12 is made by bacteria, not animals!.

Iron is easy to find in a vegetarian diet, especially if you eat plenty of dark green leafy vegetables such as mustard!. collards and kale!.

B12 comes from bacteria
(most people think it is the meat, but not true!. It is the bacteria on the meat)
Vegetarians used to get their B12 from the soil!. You would grow your own vegetables and since you don't use pesticides it is safe to eat it w/o washing it!.

Now you have to take a B-complex pill, eat B12 fortified foods like Nutritional Yeast or soymilk!. Since the soil is depleted in most of the US!.

Iron -
Red kidney beans, spinach, molassas, peanut butter, cashews, lentils, almonds, watercress, apricots, figs, black currant, soy beans, hazelnuts, etc!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You don't need to take a supplement, I sick of people saying that!.
You can get B12 in all dairy products so unless you're a vegan there's no problem!.
Iron is easy to get, once you know what to eat!. Dark green vegtables are high in iron as are mushrooms!. Dried fruit is pretty high in iron eg!. dried apricots, raisins, prunes!.
Make sure you are getting enough vitaman C which absorbs iron into the blood so eat citrus fruits!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

"Kal Nutritional Yeast Flakes" is a great source of B's and amino's - the iron can be had in Dulse - a sea veggie/seaweed and if you are really concerned "Hyland's Homeopathic Iron Tonic" - also another source of B's is Bee products, yes honey, pollen, & my fav - Royal Jelly - Bee products also have some aminos!. these are our fav sources for the things you mentioned!. Hope this helps! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can take supplements but you have to be careful with Iron!. You don't want to take too much!. I get B12 from Rice Dream Rice Milk!. It provides all the B12 that I need!. You can go to a health food store and ask!. They are very knowledgeable!. also you can do research on line!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Both are available in non-Rx form!. A good daily vitamin tablet would provide them, for example!.

And of course you know about spinach and iron!.!.!.

The hard part is how to get protein; normally that comes from meat, especially beef!.
Www@FoodAQ@Com

you can get iron by eating green vegetables such as brocoli!.

aswell you can also take suplements if you do not get enough!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

By eating types of foods and supplements that are high in those vitamins!. Try Tofu, Spinach, Fortified Cereal and Milk, Eggs, and Thyme, Curry, and Oats!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well there is!.!.!.!.

*Rice milk
*soymilk
*cereals
*vegetables
*mock meats
*rice
and plenty more, and check stuff to see if it has them!. b12 and iron are in plenty of things you wouldn't expect
