Do you ever feel that vegans/vegitarians are portrayed in the media in an unfair light??!
I was just watching trading spouses and the particular episode was a californian woman who was vegi, and a Cajun women who raised her own gators to eat and sell!.
The vegetarian woman has all the compassion in the world for farm animals and was quite emotional about it, however she abused the families dog!. ( hitting and pushing its head into a pee spot!.- when she hit the dog it yelped loudly) And she went on to say how burgers cause cancer, yet the soy burgers did not!. The next shot was of her smoking!. She was harsh and brash to the family and furthermore used the money to spite their lifestyle!. Funny enough, she did eat alligator and said it was good!.
She was mean to her children and admonished them for showing emotion!. She was really mean and rude!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When they cast those shows (so-called Reality Shows are very scripted), they try to find the biggest, volatile freaks they can find!. Most normal people would make very boring subjects on Trading Spouses!.

She needs to look up vegetarian in the dictionary if she thinks she can eat alligator and still be a vegetarian!.
That is just one person though, and in a one-off episode of a reality show!.
If she says that she doesn't eat burgers because they cause cancer but then smokes well she is obviously hypocritical!.

One's culinary choices are just that- choices!.
It does not make them inferior or superior to anyone else!. It is nothing more than a decision of what to eat!. Vegans and vegetarians should be respected for their decisions and should also respect those that are not like them!.

I don't think the media consistently portrays vegetarians as jerks, and I don't think the show portrayed her as a jerk because she was a vegan!. (I think they portrayed her as a jerk because she was a jerk!.)
