Sautee the onion in the oil until done, about 3-5 minutes!. Add tofu and sautee another 8-10 minutes, until tofu is cooked, stirring frequently!. Reduce the heat to medium low!.

Add ketchup, water, chili powder and salt and pepper and stir well!. Allow sloppy joes to cook another 5-7 minutes, until ingredients are well mixed and hot!.

Serve on bread or hamburger buns and enjoy!

AND another question: could I use vegetable oil instead of olive oil since its only for sauteeing!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Sounds good, but I use peanut oil, because it stands up to heat better then olive oil!.

I agree with using BBQ sauce instead of ketchup too!. If you do want to use ketchup add some more chili powder to spice it up!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd double the onion and add some crushed garlic!. Some finely chopped celery would go nicely, too!. But don't expect it to taste like a real sloppy joe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe!. I would prefer to use BBQ sauce versus the ketchup and seiten or TVP in place of the tofu!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds ok!.!. Tofu usually takes on the flavours of the foods it's prepared with! I don't like ketchup though! Www@FoodAQ@Com
