Ok so mom is letting me become a vegetarian as long as I get the same nutriton that is in meat in a diff food!. I was wondering what substitutes as meat!? Like what cna i eat that gives me the same nutrion as meat!? also about how much is it and where can i get it at and is it tasty or gross!? Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are lots of veggie burgers, veggie hots, soy crumbles and if you are not going VEGAN, cheese is always available in many forms!. also get lots of beans, lentils, nuts too!.

But also do remember that being a vegetarian is so much more than not eating meat!. It means that you eat VEGETABLES!!! Don't get carried away with just burgers, dogs cheese and breads!. Too many carbs are not going to help in the long run!.

Fill up on bright colored veggies -- steamed broccoli, bright carrots, tomatoes, colorful peppers, zucchini, fresh spinach, and more!. This is a great season for farm fresh local produce!. Have your mom take you to the local farmers marked and buy from growers you know!. Eating local is just as helpful to the environment, as veggie eating is to animals! Shipping food across country costs billions of gallons of gas, and produces exhaust pollution!. Support a farmer in the community you live in!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

First of all, you don't need meat in the first place, so you don't need to substitute it!.

Food is a very large subject, so just start getting interested in trying different foods and learning new recipes and experimenting etc!.!.!.!. and there you go!. The First thing you need to do is discover tasty foods!. Don't eat things just because you heard that you need this or that vitamin from these foods!. Remember, vitamins and minerals and all that junk were only recently discovered, and people know very little about them still!. We have been around for millions of years and we never gave vitamins, minerals, protein, etc!. a thought!. There have been vegetarians around since ancient times!. What did they eat!? They ate what they thought tasted good, but just avoided animal foods!. That's all!. Some famous ones lived very long lives, such as Pythagoras, for example!. He lived a very good life and died in his 90s!. So, eat food, good food, real food, whole foods, organic foods, tasty food, variety of food, etc!. and you really can't go very wrong!. As you go along you will learn that these foods are good for this, and those foods are good for that!.!.!. so, you are not going to keel over and die in the process!. Wow, we're exactly the same!

Some things that are really yummy are:

veggie dogs
veggie burgers

They are really good, and even though they dont taste like actual burgers, they are great tasting!.

Some cheese that you might want to try:

Brie (you cook it in the oven!. it's gooey and really good on bread)!.
Goat Cheese (great on crackers)
Halloom (cook it on the barbeque or in a pan!. it's really nice, but very squeaky!. very differnt texture!.)

There is some artificial meat too, but I dont like it too much!.
However, meatless chicken nuggets are very good!.

Tofu is definately an interesting food to try!. I love it, but most of the people I show it to dont like it!. You cook it in different food, like noodles, or salads!. it's really good!. I eat it plain with chopsticks!.

all of this can be found at Zhers, I can tell you confidently!. Or, at least the one in my town!. It's not a huge superstore, so you should be able to find it easily!. A lot of stores (not mine) have vegetarian sections!.

well soy is a good alternative!. it comes in many forms!.!.!.tofu, soy beans, soy milk, etc!. you can get tofu at any supermarket and can use it just like meat!. you can mix it into casseroles, soups, salads, stirfries, etc!. a lot of beans, nuts, and legumes are good protein alternatives for meat!. are you going to eat fish still!?!?!? fish as a lot essential fatty acids and vitamins!. if you're worried about nutrition, maybe you should try a multi-vitamin!. couldn't hurt!.!.!.!.good luck!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Um go get some veggies maybe go to Whole Foods and get some nutrition's from there or go to your favorite store and get some food that's good for you and wants best for you to eat!.Just ask your mom about some food that doesn't have meat in it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i eat morning star: they make vegetarian chik'n'nuggets, corn dogs, chicken patties, burgers, everything

Eat a variety and you should be okay!. Grains, fruits, veggies, and legumes, nuts, and seeds every day!. Dairy is an optional daily, but try to get some at least once a week!. Eggs can be weekly!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
