Vegetarians and Vegans: Do You No Longer Desire Meat?!
I'm 17, male, and I started to go vegetarian over 2 years ago!. I did it gradually; first I cut out beef, then ham/pork, then chicken, then fish, and finally shellfish!. But, I've come to find that since I've been a vegetarian I no longer desire meat at all!. I don't know if it has to do with the fact that I am a picky eater to begin with!. Do any of you guys feel this way too!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

It been already 7 years being a vegan!. today surely i do not have any desire to meat!. My 5 y/o daughter had never tasted flesh before and never possessed any desire, has no problem with meat craving!. I will leave to her freedom one day!. She already has the rights for choosing hundreds of healthy and ethical veggie products in the market today!. I had never compromised the taste & nutrition by being a vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I am a male, 61, and have been meatless for six years!. I, too, had been drifting away from meat for several years!. My last meat meal was a piece of chicken at a company picnic!. Perhaps I go to extremes to avoid meat and meat products, but not only do I not desire meat anymore--I do not even like to be around it and certainly do not want it in my diet!.
It takes some effort to avoid meat completely, as many manufactured products have a meat-type product buried in the ingredients list!. For example, a certain golden-arches restaurant chain still puts beef extract in their French fries, and many products use the term "natural flavoring" for some ingredients that are actually meat sources!. Still, it is well worth the effort!.
Truly I feel better since meat left my diet; in fact, I noticed that effect within days of committing to a meatless diet, and it continues and improves all the time!. I do eat some dairy products but try not to consume too much of those!. There is a great variety of foods that both vegans and vegetarians can eat to ensure a well-balanced, highly nutritious diet!. If you like to cook, check out some cookbooks from your library and then maybe buy some!. You may be surprised at how many fine foods you can have!. I hope your family and friends support you in your choice!. It's a good one!. It is certain that I shall never go back to meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I still desire meat, and have it every once in a while!. (once every 6 months)!. And when I do eat it, I eat very little of it!. However things like sausage and bacon feel much greasier to me now than they ever did since I became a pescetarian several months ago after dating someone that influenced me to take on a newer healthier diet!.
Steak (cow meat) has never turned me on!. I don't understand what people find so intriguing about it!. And I ate far too much of this stuff as a kid!.
Your desire for the junk you used to conosume will wane after your taste buds get used to not having it, cause then your mind won't think about it!. Taste is not only physical, it's mental and nasal!. I did this with processed sugar in my coffee!. It now grosses me out to have sugar in my coffee!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've been a vegetarian for just three weeks and I still sometimes see meat!. with my immediate response being "yum" however no more than two seconds after that I remembr why I'm doing what I'm doing and, like Krister said, don't see it as food anymore!. And really after my initial reaction, I don't crave it WHATSOEVER - it grosses me out!. That "yum" thing is slowly decreasing, however!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I'm a pesco-vegetarian (I eat fish because I used to have other unrelated health problems) and all meat is just gross to me now!. Once I read about not only the cruelty behind animal products but also how bad they are for you, I just grew out of the habit of putting that stuff in my body!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
No, no desire for it!. Did I desire it in the first place, or what it just a habit or what I was used to!? Who knows!.
After adjusting my diet over the years, I used to crave sugar/sweet stuff, but now that's gone too!. Junk food used to be pretty normal for me a long time ago, but now, it tastes just way too strong and awful!. So, no desire for that now too!. The healthier you eat, the more the body recognizes such things as being bad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
