What are some good ways to get protein...!


Question: What are some good ways to get protein!.!.!.
first off im a vegetarian so meat is out of the question!.!.
i DO NOT like baked beans and i do eat veggie burgers and such so i get some protein but the other day i was lookin at my finger nails and the top layer was like peeling away

my mom said it was because i dont get enough protein so i was wondering what some good ways to get lots of protein

as always ill take any comments or advice

Vegetable protein is poor quality compared to the protein in meat however its possible to increase the quality of vegetable protein by combining it with other plant foods!. This is a common way vegetarians obtain high quality protein with a diet low in calories and fat!. An example of combining plant proteins would be a vegetable curry with rice or naan bread!. The two foods complement each other because vegetable protein lacks certain essential amino acids but these are present in the rice and bread forming a meal with a complete protein source!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, dairy and eggs have good protein, but also saturated fat and cholesterol!.!.!. so eat them, but don't rely on them!. Try beans in other ways!.!.!. bean spreads, bean soups, chilis!.!.!. there are a ton of ways to eat beans!. also, seeds and nuts are great!. There really is protein in almost everything (not water, though), so if you're eating a reasonable amount and variety of food, you're probably getting enough!. How's your fat intake!? A tunafish sandwich would be a great start!. Or perhaps a steak!. Maybe a nice chicken breast, or some turkey!. The options are out there and they aren't hard to find!. There is a whole section devoted to protein at every supermarket, it's called the MEAT department!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are always vitamins to take, protein shakes, protein bars, etc!. Just look for products with added protein!. I think I've seen some juices with it!. A lot of food has protein in it, you just have to look at the labels!. Maybe take a look at this chart, it has a lot of different things listed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, lack of protein is not always the cause of peeling nails!. An even bigger cause is dehydration!. Do you drink AT LEAST 8 glasses of fluids a day, excluding caffeinated drinks!? If you drink soda, coffee or tea, you should drink even more water!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

soy beans, tofu, soy meat substitutes, soy dairy substitutes and any other soy products!.

legumes, which is any bean, nut, seed [etc!.]

Try some artificial meat!. One of my favorite companies is Morning Star that offers a lot of soy products that are high in protein!. It is available at your local grocery store (Ralphs) Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can definately answer your question!. First of all, we don't need as much protein as we are taught in school!. The reason is that the message we get about eating protein is funded by the agricultrual industry!. Of course they are going to tell us to eat our beef and drink our milk!. Unfortunately this can be dangerous advice to follow , and , like you , some prefer not to eat animal products!.!. which is, by the way, one of the most healthiest choices you can make!.

Where do huge animals such as cows, elephants, girraffes , and the like get the protein to get so big!. They don't eat meat!. They eat vegetation!. In fact the protein that we get from cows milk and beef are actual from the protein that the cows eat!.!. and that is from the ground!. So let's cut out the middle man!.!. I mean middle cow!.!.
There is ample enough protein found in the raw vegetables that we eat!.
It is very important that you note the word RAW and this is precisley the reason why animal products are not a good source of protein!. Once something is cooked the molecular structure of the protein changes and makes it pretty much useless for the body!.
As well as vegetables you can also find protein in nuts such as almonds, cashews, and the like!. You may want to try Almond or Rice milk!. Whole grain (NOT WHITE) bread has protein!.
One of the best sources I have found is in HEMP products!. Now, mom, don't get all upset , I am not talking about Marjuana!. this is from a different plant!. You can get hemp seeds, hemp oil as well as a variety of whole food products that have it!.
