I want to become a pescovegetarian Again!

Question: I want to become a pescovegetarian Again
Though when I did it for 1 year straight all I ate was random fish, until I got really sick, did I eat somthing wrong!? the doctor had told me that I had eaten too much of one type of fish over the other!. He said that it ws alrighty to be a full pesco vegetarian becuase the protein is alright!. But are there prepereations as in what types of fish, or where they where raised!? is there a website for this!?

(by the way, for those who dont know what a pesco vegetarian is, it is a person who consumes a Variety of safe fish, and assorted fruits and vegetables, some do not eat dairy or animal products while some do, but they do not consume Chicken, beef, or any other than the necessarily fish in there diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I!. like you, only eat fish!.!.!.!.no chicken, beef, pork!. I never knew what this was called!. I also thought that the protein was a good protein!. I'm not sure what you mean with "prepereations"!. Do you mean preparing the fish!? Your question is interesting! As far as where the fish comes from!.!.!.in supermarkets!.!.!.Big Y for one; they list where the fish is from and whether it is wild or farm raised!. I'm sure if you asked at the fish section they would tell you; but who knows if they're telling you the truth! Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is no such thing!. There are pescetarians!.!.!.The only meat they eat is fish!. They are not vegetarians though!.

I respect your likes!. I just don't respect you using a made-up name to describe a diet that is impossible!. Vegetarians don't eat meat!.!.!.and fish is meat!. Adding any prefix to vegetarian does not make it different in meaning!.

i think that you should just have a little less fish in your diet like try to cut down a little on it because your obiously eating too much fish and im trying to become a vegetarian and i no its hard but stick with it cause you CAN do it!! :DWww@FoodAQ@Com

Fish contains a high level of mercury, which often gets people sick!. Beyond that, it's healthy, but you have to be careful about not taking in too much, or at least giving yourself time to develop immunity!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You aren't vegetarian!. And please!.!.!.!. you're a meat eater!. Fish is meat!. That isin't even a real word, what you just said!.

Soumds like you just want a label!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you're asking a question about fish, you should just go to the regular food section, since vegetarians and vegans don't consume fish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You might want to try asking this in one of the more general categories!. Vegetarians are probably not the best people to ask for advice on fish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Fish are very high in vitamin A and it is easy to overdose on it!. Your body doesnt need that much A try eating more fresh water fish then saltwater!. Both are high in A but more saltwater fish are higher then freshWww@FoodAQ@Com

too much mercury from fish can make you sick so watch your intake!. other than that I cant tell you how to control your diet so good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

learn to spell the big words before you use them kid,
it's spelled Pescetarianism Www@FoodAQ@Com

Wow, I never heard of that, but hey whatever you want, just do it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

try eating fish less but make it a variety !.!.!.

(Once a day maybe!?)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Did you make that word up!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think the reaction is from people who resent the word pescovegetarian!. It implies that you are some form of vegetarian, which you are not!. Good job for cutting out other forms of meat!. It's good start and you should keep it up!.

Be very careful with fish!. It is very likely to be ill prepared!. This may have led to your sickness!. Fish contains many contaminants!. There is no way to raise fish "safely"!. If they are farm raised they are kept in similar conditions to their land-loving brethren!. They are crammed in too small tanks where they bump into each other, injuring themselves!. They also swim in their own filth, picking up contamination as they grow!.

Fish caught in the wild are harvested from over fished waters!. Wreaking havoc on the environment!. Not to mention that fish that live in wild water are likely to pick up the contaminants that they swim with!. We're talking mercury, pollution, industrial waste etc!.

There is no such thing as "safe fish"!. Just like there is no such thing as "safe beef", "safe chicken", or "safe pork"!. It's all flesh and eating it puts you at risk!. You may have gotten sick from food poisoning!. Who knows!. Unfortunately, what you ate wrong may have been contaminated fish!. Is it worth the risk!? That decision is up to you!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Check out the first website in my sources!. It contains a list of fish species and is split up according to their mercury association!. You want to eat a variety to get different nutrients, but on the same hand, your protein in general needs to be varied!. Don't have fish everyday!. Mix it up with nuts, protein drinks, and beans!. I would limit fish to 5 meals a week, but make sure you get a good amount of protein everyday!. The second link in my sources lists good sources of protein!.

As for a special preparation, just make sure you cook it very well!. If it sushi, make sure you buy it from a reputable store/source!. Other than than, the prep should affect your health!.

It's all about balance! Hope it helps and good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
