I need help! How do I become vegetarian?!
I REALLY want to become a vegetarian, but I can't!
1: I love meat too much, and I don't know if tofu tastes the same!.!.!.
2: My parents won't let me because I'm "too young"!.
If I don't start young, it'll be really hard to switch over when I get older right!? It's already hard now!. The type of vegetarian I want to be is the ones who don't eat meat, poultry or seafood, but still eats eggs, milk and other dairy!. I need advice on good recipes I can try, and how to convince my parents!. And good exercises on how to switch over!.!. (if there are any)
Thanks for all the help!
And don't tell me being vegetarian is stupid, blah, blah!. I don't want silly answers!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well I'm 17 and a vegan!. I started the transformation into vegetarianism when I was in the 7th grade!. At that point, I honestly didn't have a reason to be a veggie, it just seemed like something I needed to do!. If you love meat why do you want to be a vegetarian!? If it's for the animals then right on! What I did is I was at a restaurant eating beef and all of a sudden I just couldn't eat it anymore!. Anyways, what I did is stopped eating beef first, then after a few months stopped eating pork, then about a year after stopped eating chicken, then 6 months later stopped eating fish!. If you become a vegetarian all at once, your body will freak out but the amount of nutrence and lack of saturated fat and you will get sick so you have to start small and work your way up!.
My mother didn't accept me for being a vegetarian at first either but just tell her that this is something that you really want to do!. I have friends that their parents actually tried to hide meat in their food! Your mother isn't going to force meat down your throat so if she tries to feed you meat just don't eat it!. It will grow on her eventually and she will have to deal with it!. I hope I helped, If you google "vegetarian starter tips" you will find a lot of answers as well!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

How to Be a Lacto Ovo Vegetarian
Some people become a vegetarian for health, but others do it for moral reasons!. This guide will help you to be a lacto ovo vegetarian!. This refers to a diet that eschews animal flesh but still includes eggs, dairy products (milk, cheese etc!.) and honey!. It can be a very healthy and balanced diet, provided that you pay close attention to eating the right foods!.
[edit] StepsMake sure to eat an appropriate amount of protein, carbohydrates, and fats!.
Watch for Carmine!. also called Cochineal, E120, Natural Red 4, or C!.I!. 75470, this is a food coloring made from insects found in many previously acceptable foods, such as popsicles, pink lemonade, and candy!.
Avoid gelatin!. It's made from boiling animal parts!. It is found in some candy (such as Starbursts and Skittles), chocolate (Russell Stovers), and yogurt!.
Eat cheese carefully!. Certain kinds of cheeses are made from animal derived rennet!. These are typically the more expensive types of cheeses!. Rennet can be made from microbial or plant sources, but be aware of the possible sources!.
Read the ingredients of food carefully!. Many foods you used to take for granted may contain animal products!. Some pies and French fries are made from beef fat (tallow)!. If you're unable to read the ingredients, ask people to check for you!. Eventually, it gets to the point where you automatically know what's safe to eat and what's not!.
[edit] TipsThere are books in the local library that list veggie-friendly restaurants, as well as those that claim to be and are not!.
You can also go to a restaurant's website, where they typically list ingredients, or contact customer service to find out if ingredients are the result of killing animals!.
Remember, although lacto-ovo vegetarianism means you can eat anything that doesn't involve animal death, keep in mind that most companies sell or make their products using eggs from caged hens, which many lacto-ovo vegetarians don't eat because of the cruelty involved!.
[edit] WarningsBe prepared to ask for information about food at restaurants!.
There are hidden animal derivatives in many foods, for example parmesan and many other cheeses are not vegetarian; always check!.
Although you are making a positive change to your diet, some of the people around you may be judgemental or unhelpful!. Try to ignore them, or, better yet, find out all the arguments for your diet and repeat them!.

you're confused!.
so, your parents don't want you eating a good vegetable and fruit diet!?
ask them why!? show this to them!.
http://www!.healthalternatives2000!.com/mi!.!.!.
then ask them why you can't have a good diet rich in vitamins, minerals and no empty calories!.
why do you need tofu!?
meat sucks, there's nothing in it basically other than some iron, some b-12 and maybe a hint of protein (from fats though)
no, dairy is not part of a vegetarian diet!. matter of fact dairy is the major reason why we have digestional issues and complications!.
dairy is the cause of high cholesterol and triglycerides!.
also, cut out the junk foods, processed foods, frozen, packaged and canned!.
if your parents still aren't convinced then it's ignorance and i'm supposing they may have health issues!. since if they don't promote healthy eating they're probably not eating well themselves!.
simple as that!.
with a diet rich in foods high in vitamins and minerals you'll save yourself some very serious problems in the future!.
remember, fresh fruits and vegetables!. look at the site and check out the contents of each element there and you'll see that a diet such as this will be more effective than what most eat!.
my breakfast has more in it than what most eat during the week!.
this morning i had an avocado (potassium 1 gram, iron 90 mg, calcium 50mg!.!.!.!.) soymilk, an iron and protein giant! steamed spinach, another iron giant with vit b 12 and vitamin d!.!.!.!. and orange juice, super packed with vit!. C, potassium, calcium!.!.!.
and NO cows milk is not a calcium giant, potatoes have more calcium, broccoli has more calcium!.
no dairy is a provider of calcium like most of your green veggies and most fruits!.
you'll learn so much by research and you'll see why a vegetarian diet is the better choice!.
in more ways than one of course!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
