You just can't eat meat!. In other words, don't eat corpses from the kingdom animalia!. Yes, you can eat dairy!. No you can't eat fish!. Try to avoid meat for a while, and then you will get used to not having it, so when you see it, it will have less of an effect!. Tell your parents that you really love animals, so you're turning vegetarian!. Keep it plain and simple, don't go on and on about why they should too, or how they're killing poor little pigs, !.!.!.etc!.

However, if you want to be vegan you can't eat meat or anything else that comes from animals (eggs, butter, milk, cheese!.!.!.) In that case look out for cakes that may have eggs added, or milk!. Don't worry that much, though, there are lots of dairy-free milk, even fake ice cream!

For both vegetarians and vegans watch out for animal byproducts in foods such as: rennet (an enzyme from cow's stomach added to some cheeses) and gelatin (broth from boiled, ground up hooves, claws, beaks, feathers!.!.!.!)

You are making the right choice to be vegetarian! Don't let anyone change your mind!

b!.t!.w!. some people here say that you need meat for protein!. Not true! Unlike a cat (and many other carnivores) you have the ability to metabolize protein not only from meat but from certain veggies, eggs, cheese, and other protein products!. Don't let all the nutrition worries scare you!. Vegetarians (especially Hindus) have lived for thousands of years without protein deficiency!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A vegetarian, by definition, simply does not eat meat!. Some choose to get rid of other things!.

A sub-type of vegetarian is a vegan, who essentially tries not to eat anything from an animal (essentially not supporting factory farming of animals at all), which would include not eating, dairy product, honey (for some) and anything else you can think of that would come from a non-plant creature!.

There is also a type of vegetarian called a raw foodist who only eats raw vegetables, fruits, and grains!. The idea is that when you cook the food, it leaches the nutrients and minerals, and destroys the lfie force of the plant!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's all up to you!. Do you want to eat dairy products!? Do you want to eat fish!? There are many different types of vegetarians and "semi-vegetarians"
Semi vegetarians - Just don't eat red meat
Pescatarians - Don't eat red meat or poultry, do eat fish and other seafood
Lacto-ovo vegetarians - Don't eat any meat (including fish), do eat eggs and dairy
Lacto vegetarians - Don't eat any meat (including fish)or eggs, do eat dairy
Ovo vegetarians - Dont' eat any meat (including fish) or dairy, do eat eggs
Vegan, otherwise know as pure, strict, total or 100% vegetarians - Don't eat any meat (including fish) or eggs or dairy

You can't eat gelatin (found in marshmallows and jello) or rennet (found in a lot of cheese)

If you want to completely stop supporting animal cruelty then vegan is the way to go!. But it can be annoying and hard at times (I can't stop thinking about bloody chocolate eclairs!)

Good luck =DWww@FoodAQ@Com

Hey, I've been a vegetarian for nearly 5 years!. THere are many alternatives to meat, and one that is most common is tofu!. After a while it's not that bad, just don't eat it plain, use some sort of sauce (I personally like butter chicken sauce on tofu and rice)!. And Schneiders, yes, the meat company, has some vegetarian fake chicken patties and chicken nuggets that taste real, so you should give those a try!. Unless you are going vegan, you can stil eat dairy products, and if you want, you can eat fish!. If they really like meat a lot, maybe when meat is a main part of dinner you should make your own substitute instead of your mom having to cook another meal for you!. Or you could make a transition by having 3-4 veg meals a week, then go up to every day!. also, there are many websites for vegetarians and veg recipes!. hope i helped! Www@FoodAQ@Com

To answer your first question: you can eat ANYTHING that isn't a piece of an animal!. Hidden ingredients include gelatin, cochineal, Worcestershire, and rennet!. They're all made out of body parts!.

2: Dairy is fine!. Some cheese isn't strictly vegetarian, due to rennet, but most vegetarians eat it anyway!. There are some rennet-less brands, as well (like Tillamook)!.

3: Fish isn't technically vegetarian, but there is a dietary designation known as pescetarian, which means someone who avoids all land
animals but does eat fish and fish products!. (Worcestershire sauce is okay for pescetarians!.)

4: For a long time, you can't, especially if you really like meat!. After awhile, though, you lose all taste for it!. Kind of weird!. Cooking meat doesn't smell good to me anymore!. In fact, cooking beef smells kind of bad now!. If it's hard, I'd go slowly instead of trying to quit cold turkey (yuk yuk)!. Stop eating pork first, then beef, then birds, then fish!. Then you can slowly get used to not having things that you used to eat!.

5: First, do your research!. Figure out why you want to stop eating meat!. (Your parents will ask!.) Be able to say in a non-confrontational way what it is about vegetarianism that appeals to you!. Dinnertime is not the time to drop this on them!. When they ask why, this is not your cue to play PETA videos!. Don't be graphic, or you'll probably put them off (the last people you want to make uncomfortable are the ones who you want to have supporting you)!. also, be sure that you can answer their questions about nutrition and have some ideas about how you can keep your lifestyle from complicating theirs!. In short, how often are you going to cook!? What are you going to do to keep the grocery bill from going up!? Things like that!. One other piece of advice: ask for their help!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've been a vegetarian since February 2007!. I'm 14 years old and it started out as a thing where I was like "Let's see how long I can last!" but I actually got used to it!. After a while, you just look at meat and it does not look appetizing one bit!. Yes, you can it dairy food products, but you can't eat fish!. If you want to continue eating fish, you will be called a "pescetarian!." But to be a full vegetarian, you cannot eat meat, chicken, or fish!. If you don't want to eat dairy products also that is called being a vegan!. Just tell your parents that you want to try being a vegetarian at dinner one day!. Say, "After this meal, I think I'm going to try being a vegetarian!." They'll support you! My parents now even eat less meat because of me!. It also really helps the Earth! Good luck and I hope you continue to be a vegetarian! :]Www@FoodAQ@Com

What vegetarian diet you would want to follow!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Thats a big question and the answer lies to your decision!.!.

First a lacto-ovo vegetarian can have eggs, cheese, milk, and other milk products but have to go away with meat as well as fish!.

Lacto vegetarian can have milk and other milk products but not meat (inc!. fish)!.

Ovo-veg*n can have eggs but have to go away with meat and milk products!.

Vegans (the hardest but very rewarding) cant eat foods that came from any animal or that once lived!. No honey, gelatin, marshmallows etc!.

Anyway, when I became vegetarian, I never really thought that I would be disgusted by meat in only a couple of days!. I think it just has to do with passion!. I hate looking at meat now and never crave for one!. So, just go with it everyday and be committed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well turning vegetarian means
that you cannot consume any
animal!. Now if you are counting eggs as
meat that you do not want to eat then
you cannot eat anything that has eggs
like cake and other pateries!.
The simple way is just don't eat
straight meat; pork, beef, chicken, etc!.

Now if you want to be VEGAN
that means you cannot eat anything
that was made from an animal!.
Which means no dairy or anything
that came from an animal!.
So that would be a diet full of
soy foods, vegetables and pasta

if you are asking how you to not look at meat and say it's good then i don't think you should become vegetarian!.!.!.

but, if you cut out dairy and eggs (and ANY OTHER products that come from animals) then that would make you vegan, vegetarian allows things like eggs and dairy but no meat!.!.!. alot of vegetarians will allow fish occasionally though, usually eg!.!. you may be at a restaurant or cafe or something and they don't do anything vegetarian (this is quite rare now though) so something with fish will be orderedWww@FoodAQ@Com

vegetarians do not eat fish unless they are hypocrite most vegetarians eat fish because fish is decided not a meat but some vegetarians prefer not eating anything that once lived and becoming a vegetarian is a great idea there for meat is murder and meat is sometimes good because of its proteins but lots other food have way more so there your answer o and yes you can eat dairy products like ice cream and oh yea try just asking for less meat or putting it back they will soon become aware of your despite for meatWww@FoodAQ@Com

Vegatarians means no meat!.

No fish
No beef
No bacon
No chicken
Nothing that was alive once upon a time!.

Personally I think the rules of vegetarianism are a bit out of whack!. Example, Gelatin is made from animals bones, tissues and stuff but vegetarians still eat it!. But yeah basically no animal flesh!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

hey its a good thing that you want to become a vegetarian but if you have been eating meat all your life its going to be hard to resist it!.!.!.!.i have been a vegetarian since i was born and everything so its easy for me!.!.!.i dont eat meat, chicken and fish!.!.!.!.and some ppl sayy fish is vegetarian but i dont think so!.!.but thts my opinion !.!.!.!.just tell your parents wen they are relaxed or in a good mood go up to them saii i have to speak to u bout sumthing and say that i know this is not gonna b easy for you but i want to become a vegetarian !.!.!.hope this helps Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ok truthfully I'M not a vegitarian but my mom was!. OK if you want to turn a full on vegitarian then no you can not eat and fish,chicken,cow!.!.!.ect!. But you can be a mid lenght vegitarian!. So you can eat like fish!. You can eat a lot of pasta, bread, vegtables!.!.!.ect!. I don't think you should be one because to be HEALTHY then you need 3 servings of some type of meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

ok well i am nooooo vegetarian!. far from!. i hunt!. deer!. duck!. it provides for me and my family!. why go vegetarian!? we were not built to be vegetarian!. we are supposed to eat meat!. why do you want to be a vegetarian!. is killing animals cruel!? lemme tell you something about the wilderness!. untouched by humans!. bears!. they eat LIVE salmon!. don't even wait for it to die!. eat it alive!. lions!. eat LIVE gizelle!. catch it!. stick its claws in it!. drag it down to the ground!. chow down!. doesn't matter if its dead or alive!. humans killing animals is a lot more humane then animals killing animals if you think about it!.cattle farmers kill their cattle with one shot to the head!. cow doesn't feel a thing!. one second its there, the next, not!. when i hunt deer, 1 shot!. its dead!. no feeling as it goes out!. no pain!. just remember this!. YOU WERE NOT MEANT TO BE A VEGETARIAN!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It all depends on the type of vegetarian!. Regular vegetarians don't eat meat, but eat other animal products!. Lacto-vegetarians don't eat milk or meat, but can eat eggs!. Ovo-vegetarians cant eat eggs or meat, but can eat milk!. Vegans don't eat any of those, and rarely wear animal products either!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

personally im not a vegetarian but i have some friends who are and one friend who is vegan!. just take away the meat!. you will be okay!. as far as your parents, hopefully they will understand!. and yes, you can eat dairy and fish!. only vegans don't eat that stuff!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarian means no meat!. Sometimes fish!.
If you want to exclude dairy and all animal products, then you'd be vegan!.

Tell your parents you'd like them to be supportive of your choice, and you want to try it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
