Answers:
Look up the Vegetarian Food Pyramid!. That will tell you how many servings of each food group you need to keep your diet balanced and healthy!.

Besides soy, vegetarians get protein from beans and other legumes (lentils, peas, peanuts, peanut butter, chickpeas,) whole grains (all of them, but check out quinoa in particular,) nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables (especially dark green ones,) dairy products and eggs!.

Here's some additional info on protein: http://www!.pcrm!.org/health/veginfo/prote!.!.!.

Unless you're really eating a lot of junk food or not enough food, period, protein is not likely your problem because it's so easy to get enough!. But if you follow the pyramid, you'll cover your other needs as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Nuts, eggs and cheese!. Not sure if caviar is considered vegetarian (fish eggs), but that would be a good addition to your diet too to get the essential Omega 3 fatty acids!.

I'd avoid soy altogether as it is not good for you!. It contains phytoestrogens that can mess up your hormone imbalance!. Most legumes are toxic unless cooked and processed!. That should tell you how "natural and healthy" they are!.

You may be gaining weight if you are eating a lot of grains, refined starches and sugar!. Stick with root vegetables like carrots, turnips, beets, etc!. If you do eat grains, make sure you eat whole grains, brown rice, oatmeal etc!.

Personally, your best bet for a healthy diet is to include meat and fish in a healthy, balanced omnivorous diet!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

America has this nonsense belief that there is no such thing as too much protein!. I am a strict vegetarian and if you ever see my muscles you won't even consider that I don't get enough protein! Protein is found in just about everything and as long as you don't consume sugar and alcohol all day as your main diet, I wouldn't worry about it!. Many nutritionists will say, "As long as you've met your caloric needs for the day, you've met your protein amount for the day!." The average woman needs about 52 grams of protein a day, it sound like a like, but it's not, honestly!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The mistake many vegetarians I believe make when becoming veggie is to consume large amounts of dairy products like cheese and milk, and eggs!. These are not great ways of replacing meat, and as dairy can inhibit iron absorption and is generally high in fat!. I don't know if this is what you're doing, but if it is, you need to take stock!.

Consume a variety from an array of wholefoods, not processed foods or refined foods: grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, especially green leafy rich vegetables, and make sure you're up on veggie nutrition!. This should make a difference!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

u really shouldn't make soy ur major source of protein as soy messes up ur hormones especially if u'r a woman!.

look in the back of cereal boxes for their nutrition table and compare their protein contents!. then pick one that has the most!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

hmmm !.!.!. have you tried whey protein powder!? it can be bought in any grocery like store or healthfood store!. i'm not sure how that would fit in with being a vegetarian, but the powder is great in fruit shakes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

are you eating fresh produce!?
