How can I get on a diet being vegeterian?!
I have had many diets in my life, but they are always based on protein, like chicken and meat in general!. I am vegeterian now, and i mostly eat carbs (rice, beans, veg, pasta, diaries)!. So how do you think I could lose some weight!? Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
I can assure you that you don't need to be on a protein diet to lose weight!. If you eat healthy, you will be thin for the rest of your life!.
Some things you can do, are to eliminate any processed foods from your diet!. That means, white bread, white sugar, white rice etc!.
Instead you can eat brown rice, and whole wheat yeast free bread!. Sugar you don't really need, but if you must have it, you can use agave syrup, or brown sugar!.
Something else you can do, is separate protein from starches!. So no bread and cheese for example!.
It makes digestion easier!.
Drink lots of water, and don't eat empty calories!. Make every calorie worth it!. Veggies have very few calories, but they're packed with nutrition!. A piece of white bread, has tonnes of calories, and no nutrition at all!.
So basically, no junk food, and you'll be okay!.
Foods packed with nutrition:
Carrot juice, veggie juice
Broccoli, spinach, dandelion, endives, celery!.!.!.
quinoa, brown rice amaranth, millet, oats
lentils, kidney beans, soy beans, split peas!.!.!.
avocados,
flax seed oil ( essential fatty acids) tahini, almonds, nuts and seed!.!.!.
And don't eat too late at night!. :)
If you have any questions you can email me!.
Good luck, and congratulations on going veggie!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hi, I have been a vegetarian all my life!.!.!. I hope my experiences can help!.
You dont have to stop eating carbs just reduce the quantity!.
I agree with some people who say, being vegetarian is a diet by itself but that depends on what you eat!.
I would recommend!.!.!.
a) Before you start any meal, eat a bowl of high fiber fruit, that will fill you up plenty and hence your quantity of main-course decreases!.
b) I would strongly recommend a typical south-Asian meal!.!.!.
Make your meal a whole meal, by that I mean!.!.!. make sure you have your vegetables as your main course, some salad, lentils and rice/bread & yogurt as your sides, something sweet (1 pc) as your sugar and you will be all set with your meal!.
The vegetables & salad provide you with fiber, vitamins and proteins; lentils with protein, rice/ bread with carbs, and sweet just for dessert and some sugar; yogurt will provide calcium!.
d) If you have to eat pasta then have pasta with more sauteed vegetables and sauce as they will have more protiens and vitamins!.
e) also, drink lots of water as in any diet and eat slowly for your brain to register what you eat to avoid over-eating!.
f) eat 4-6 small meals a day!.
good luck!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Eat like you are supposed to and not like a rabbit!.
Carbohydrates convert to blood glucose I!.E!. sugar!. It is stored as fat!. Animal protein is not that way!. Take it from a diabetic, I have to limit my carbohydrates much more than I would like!. I miss the amount of fruits and vegetables I used to eat but it does my body good!.
One last thing!. I tell all vegetarians this although I'm sure it normally falls on deaf ears!. You are an omnivore!. Millions of years of evolution did it!. You have the binocular vision of a predator, a combination of teeth to handle meat and plants, you have the digestive system of an omnivore so why do you insist on eating like a rabbit!. Feed a rabbit steak as a total diet, they don't last too long!.
Read the labels on the foods you eat and pay attention to serving size!. Some serving sizes are ridiculously small to make the other numbers, especially the calorie count look better!. They just hope you are too stupid to figure it out!. If you are eating more than about 70 to 75 grams of carbohydrates a meal (assuming 3 meals a day) you had better be running half marathons three or four times a week or you will not reduce your weight, you will probably increase it!. Vegetarianism is a diet within itself, no!? Just make sure you're exercising and getting your protein and whatnot from other sources, if not meat!. And obviously don't eat too much; know when to quit!. Drink Green Tea and lots of water regularly and lastly, "eat less but often!." Meaning!.!.!. if you're having 3 large meals, trade that in for 5 or 6 small meals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
shouldnt being vegetarian in itself make you thin !?
that is of course if your a HEALTHY vegetarian lifestyle and not eating pure junk food because vegetarian and vegans are supposed to naturally be healthier and thinner than meat eaters you just need to re-evaluate your eating habitsWww@FoodAQ@Com

well dont eliminate carbs, they are necessary!. you should start having salads more often, with little or no dressing!. also, try tofu, i cant talk for myself cause i've never tried it but it is a good alternative for meats!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Cut down on your carbs, and exercise more!. Eat more veggie protein and cut back on animal protein (dairy and eggs)!. Stay away from veggie junk food: chips, cookies, cake, etc!.
BTW: diets don't work, but lifestyle changes do!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
