Which is cheaper, TVP or real meat?!
Answers:
TVP is a better value because it doesn't shrink when you cook it!. You can find it in the vegetarian section of the store!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If you can find a supermarket that has TVP in the bulk bins it's really reasonable and definitely cheaper than meat!. If your supermarket doesn't have bulk bins check their "health foods" section!. It comes in a variety of forms - granules and shapes, if you can't find this product ask the grocery manager if it's on the order sheet!. Our store started stocking TVP "chunks" in their bulk bins after we requested it!. Others are obviously interested in this inexpensive and versatile protein source!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
They're actually pretty comparable if you get the seasoned TVP!. If you get the dehydrated kind, I think it's cheaper!. Where it is varies by supermarket!. At one supermarket in my town, the fake meats are in the organic produce section!. In another, they're near the Lunchables and fresh pastas!.
The dehydrated kind is in the natural section, along with natural flours!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

TVP is generally cheaper!. But some of the pre flavored/processed ones cost almost like real meat!.
Meat, like the Japanese Kobe beef, can cost up to $300 a pound!.
But I can't tell you where to find them as I don't buy/eat TVP!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
