I'm kind of getting sick of being vegetarian.?!

Question: I'm kind of getting sick of being vegetarian!.!?
I've been a vegetarian for two years now, but I don't know, I'm kind of sick of it!. I became a vegetarian because of the way animals were treated!. But, when I think about it, even if its organic, free range meat, I still feel bad that I'm eating a dead animal!. But, when I did eat meat, I just didn't think about the animal, just thought of it as food!. I don't know what to do!. :( I kind of in a slump!. Please no mean answers!. I'm just trying to figure things out!. I know there a lot of vegetarian foods, but sometimes I just want a burger on a bun, not legumes and seeds and nuts!.!.!. And yes I know there are veggie burgers, but they are not the same at all!. Any advice!? All answers are welcome, please just no extremists!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know what your going through, since I've been a vegetarian since 3rd grade and sometimes I've wished I still eat meat, but in the end it'll pay off!. I mean think about it, there's a little piglet or calf out there that would have been slaughtered and made in to packaged meat but people like you and me are giving them a chance to live, and not just the life they get when their mother and father are being turned into ground beef or bacon!. Just because animals can't speak, or fight back or anything, doesn't mean they can't love, or miss their parents when they are taken to be slaughtered!. We don't eat dogs or cats, what makes pigs and cows any different!. Like G!. Bernard Shaw said

"If a group of beings from another planet were to land on Earth -- beings who considered themselves as superior to you as you feel yourself to be to other animals -- would you concede them the rights over you that you assume over other animals!?"

So come on, hang in there, I know you can make it =)! Think of the lives your saving, think of those who can't save themselves!.

People are vegetarian or vegan because it matters to them, whether for health, the environment, or animals!. It's up to you to decide how important it is to you!.

If you're bored with the food you're eating, try new stuff!. There's plenty of quick and easy vegetarian meals, and lots of more complicated stuff with rich flavors and textures!.

It is important to eat a varied diet to ensure you'll be healthy, but otherwise there's a lot of flexibility!.

Well, either way you are eating something that once was alive!. Seeds have the energy for life, and plants must be killed to be eaten!. I guess to me there is no difference, either way you are taking a life or potential life of something on earth!. But to survive you must eat something that once was or (in some cases of plants) are alive!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you really miss it that much, have some from time to time!. Your diet is your own personal choice!. I know you don't want to kill animals, but if you eat a burger every couple of weeks or so, it won't add up to much!. And an occasional burger is a small price to pay to keep your diet largely intact, and still enjoy what you're eating!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Whoever that me girl is is stupid!. "God" didn't put any animals here for us to eat!. The animals are here just the same as we are!. They evolved from something else until they've gotten to the point that they are now!. They have just as much right to enjoy their life as we do!. Personally I don't think these animals deserve to die just so we can stuff our faces but no one is stopping you from eating them so do what you want!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is nothing wrong with getting sick of eating the same things every day!. Look up some exotic foods!. Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Ethiopian, Caribbean, etc!.!.!.!. Find new cookbooks/recipes!. Go to a restaurant that you haven't been to before!. Everyone gets into slumps and the way to get out is to try something new!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

well, the question is do you really want to eat all that bloody, hormone filled meat!?

or would you rather continue with the cruelty free version!.!.!.!.remember, there are only a few meats, zillions of veggiesWww@FoodAQ@Com

if it only took two years to get tired of the food choices!. whats it going to be like down the road, even if you get past all this from watching another cruel video!. my advice: come on back and have some ribs and steaksWww@FoodAQ@Com

You know, it's better that you eat a burger once a month and be happy than to eat 5 cows a year and be miserable!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just keep trying!. You either care about the animals and refuse to eat them or you don't care and want to eat them!.
Www@FoodAQ@Com

Personally I never get tired of saving animals and not supporting their cruelty!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

have you ever heard of dr!.praegers veggie burgers!? they actually taste good!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I asked my self the same question today!. Then when I think about eating meat, I feel really sad!. I don't know what to do!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is hard, but you have to tough it out!. Though you will sometimes crave meat, it's worth it to give it up because you aren't ending innocent animals lives and meat isn't all that healthy for you!. A lot of vegetarians cheat now and then!. I used to, before I became vegan!. But you have to remember the alternatives to eating meat!. Though veggie burgers and meat substitutes aren't the same, they're still the closest you'll get to the real thing as a vegetarian!. When I was first vegetarian, it was really hard for me because I would always crave meat!. But after a while, I just stopped craving things!. I've been a vegetarian for six years, and a vegan for a month!. Don't give up yet, you'll make it through!. Try cooking for yourself, I always find that when I make food myself I want it more!. So try to make yourself some yummy, wholesome food every time you crave meat and hopefully you'll feel better!. Good luck, and don't give up!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Unfortunately there is no correct answer, except the one you can give yourself!. I understand your plight, as my daughter became vegetarian after watching her grandfather carve an elk!. Now she will only eat chicken and some fish!.

Being from Texas and raised on steak, I was a bit disappointed!. However, it is her choice!. As it is yours!.

One thing you will have to understand is that as a human you are designed to eat both meat and plants!. We are not an either or species, but thanks to science we have vitamins and additions to the plant side that will enable your survival if you cut out meat!.

However, it is always a choice you make!. Your reasons for starting the road down vegetarianism is commendable, if not admirable!. The feelings you are having are a craving!. Much like a recent non-smoker craving that smoke after 6 months without one!.

Your body was once used to eating meat, and now wants it again!.

Like I stated, there is no right or wrong choice, you can either cave to the craving and eat meat again, or like an ex-smoker, fight the cravings and continue to not eat meat!.

If you choose vegetarianism be sure you eat enough of the right stuff, supplement with vitamins and minerals!.

If you choose to return to meat, do your homework!. Use only top quality meats, find out where the meat you are buying came from, how it was raised, fed, etc!. This may ease your mind about the animal cruelty!.

Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Jeez!. A lot of jerky people out here insinuating that you don't care about animals or are less of a person for missing meat!. (It's people like those that make people think that vegetarians are sanctimonious, exclusive, elitist jerks!.!.!. ugh!.)

Don't listen to them!.

That being said, you've obviously given this some time and thought!. You looked at one alternative: meat raised with the planet and animals in mind, and decided that you still aren't comfortable with it, since it's still (duh) a dead animal!.

The problem with thinking about food (as what it actually is) is that it it's kind of hard to go back!. Yogurt!? Spoiled milk!. Milk!? Stuff that came out of cow boob!. Blue cheese!? Moldy curdled milk!. Some people can easily dissociate!. Makes life easy for them!. You'd be surprised at how many people are really bothered to hear about what they are eating!. I don't mean jumping to conclusions about where they got their milk/meat/whatever (if you're on an organic farm and Aunt Em just brought in a pail of fresh milk, you're unlikely to get plastic residue, pus, and blood)!. I just mean stating the obvious: lean steak is a chunk of muscle, gelatin is boiled bones and skin, etc!. People get totally grossed out!. It's sort of disturbing how little most people know about what they put in their bodies!.

Okay, end of tangent!.

You're bored and you're craving stuff!.

First of all: speaking from experience, succumbing to those cravings is never as good as you think it will be!. The beef stops tasting good pretty quickly!. It's not even that it's a dead cow!. It's just that it tastes bad and feels gross in your mouth and gives you diarrhea and nasty breath and BO!.

Have you tried Bocas!? They're a bit more meat-like than Gardenburgers!. You could also go for Veggie Dogs!. There really is barely a difference!.

I have pretty much stopped trying to find a vegetarian version of meat!. I find that the vast majority are horribly disappointing!. Instead of trying to find a non-meat meat item, I just toss the idea that meat should play a role in my dinner!. I make vegetarian chili with extra beans instead of throwing in TVP!. It winds up tasting better and more real that way!. Same with barbecue!. I just grill extra veggies!. Yum!. For spaghetti, I don't use fake meat in the sauce, or try to make meatballs!. Almost every "meat alternative" I've tried has been disappointing!. It's not really anyone's fault!. I'm too lazy to make it myself and even when I do, it's not half as good as the seitan you get in restaurants!. So I stop trying to find it!.

You're the only person who is going to satisfy your dietary needs!. If you really, REALLY want to have something "meaty" then check out The Vegetarian Meat and Potatoes!. There are recipes for meat replacers as well as entrees that are rich and delicious (for the grill, the oven, you name it) but don't try to emulate meat!. In short, the best of both worlds!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The decision is completely up to you!. The animals are dead before you eat them, so it's not like you are eating them alive!. Just try not to think about it when you eat meat!. We need to eat, all of us!. And god created certain animals for us to eat!. Cows, pigs, etc!. Don't feel guilty!. Meat is good for you and it's not like you're killing an animal to make a fuzzy coat, it's food!. Don't worry, it's up to you:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

you know the global warming thing and greenhouse effect !.!.!.( i assume a vegetarian would ) the eldest theory is that when a cow farts it puts gas in the ozone layer !.!.!. when *PLANTS* make oxygen it goes 2 the atmosphere raising the ozone layer further into space!.!.!.thus you are eating only the solution we are eating the problem
good luck pick me 4 best answerWww@FoodAQ@Com
