Just not eat meat!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Just not eat meat!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Exactly that!. But why are you becoming vegetarian!? Is it moral or do you simply not like the taste of meat!. If it is the latter then you can probably eat fish as fish does not have a meaty flavour whereas if it is the former you should eat no living thing (except plants obviously)!.
Try not to just say 'I'm Vegetarian now'!. Eat what you want to eat!. There doesn't have to be a name for it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yeah, pretty much!. But you should do your research and find out where you can get protein, iron, and all your vitamins from, so you can go about being vegetarian the healthy way!. Get your protein from beans, nuts, seeds, eggs, mock meats (limit your intake on these, though, because most contain a lot of sodium), soy-based products, peanut and nut butters, and whole grains and cereals!.
Iron is easy to get too!. Eat things like sunflower and pumpkin seeds, tahini, cashews, soy milk, tofu (tofu has a lot of iron), tempeh, soy beans, oatmeal and cream of wheat, beans, bran flakes, and last but definately not least, sea vegetables!! They have so much iron in them!.
You can continue getting calcium from dairy along with fortified soy milk, and foods like soy nuts, beans, tofu, calcium-fortified orange juice, and dark leafy vegetables!. I read that calicum and vitamin D work together to strengthen bones, so make sure you get vitamin D from foods like fortified cereals, eggs, cheese, and milk (and soy milk)!.
Zinc is also a mineral that is usually gotten from animal sources, but you can get it from beans, nuts, bran flakes, wheat germ, and dairy products!.
Okay well I hope this helps you get started!. Good luck going veggie!

Just don't eat meat!. There are no meetings to attend or dues to pay!.
However, as a general rule, vegetarians don't eat meat or slaughter by-products which includes gelatin and rennet!. (scrapings from a calf's stomach, found in many cheeses!.)
Vegans don't consume any animal products, including dairy products and eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not a vegetarian, but if you want to go veggie, it's more than just cutting meat!. You do get certain nutrients from meat that are necessary to the body so you need to make sure to start eating foods that have those nutrients!. You can do some research online or go to a nutritionist!. I was friends with a girl who had gone veggie, but frankly, she never ate right, and her hair thinned and lost its luster!. Maybe that wasn't the only reason, but she never seemed to get any protein!. She just ate lots of vegetables and whatnot, but never ate beans or tofu or anything like that!.
also, are you going veggie for ethical reasons or health!? If it's for ethical reasons, how far you want to take it becomes a personal thing!. Of all of my veggie friends, no two are alike!. Most are strict enough to make sure never to eat anything with gelatin in it or any sort of broth from animal sources!. Most make sure to shun leather, although one girl I knew had given up when it came to shoes!. She had tried, but had trouble finding non-leather shoes, especially nice ones for work!. That is getting easier though!. Most look for products that are not tested on animals!. And remember meat includes all of it - chicken, fish, beef, pork!.!.!. It just annoys when someone comes down on me for not having gone veggie or for being in something leather while they are chowing down on a piece of fish!. Don't be that person!.
It's going to be personal and how far your beliefs take you!.
So far as finding veggie food, it will be a trial process!. If you do want to eat meat substitutes (Morningstar, LiteLife, Garden Patch, Boca, Gardenburger!.!.!.), you'll go through several before you find one you like if at all!. I prefer Morningstar Grillers Prime Burgers over Boca and Gardenburger, but others prefer one of the others!. And Morningstar Buffalo Wings are a drug for me! So, don't give up on all if you don't like one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here is the definition of the word from the organization that coined it!.
vegetarian - http://www!.vegsoc!.org/info/whatis!.html
Vegetarians do not eat animals!.
Cows, pigs, chickens, fish, shrimp and clams are all animals!.
Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies can easily offer everything that you need except B12!.
http://www!.veganhealth!.org/sh
http://www!.pcrm!.org/health/veginfo
All vegetarians should take a B12 supplement regularly since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yet still have a B12 status that is lower than recommended!.

It may help you if you see proof that vegan people have the same potential as anyone else!.
