B12 vitamin in sprouts?!
Do sprouts (alfalfa, bean etc) have vitamin b12!? I'm wondering because often people argue that the only reliable source of b12 is from meat products but of course it's not true!. Does anyone have any more info on whether or not sprouts are a good source of b12!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

As the others have mentioned it's not but the reason is because even though sprouts contain b12, it's an inactive analogue(fake) of b12!. This type of b12 is also found in seaweed and unfortified soybean products!.
also, there are different forms of b12 you can buy cyanocobalimin and methylcobalimin!. Cyanocobalimin is a more stable and is used to fortify foods!. Your liver then converts cyanocobalamin b12 into methylcobalamin!.
I've read some discussions on which is better and I'm still not sure but the general consensus is that cyanocobalamin is fine for healthy individuals!. Methylcobalimin is more expensive and if they've been sitting on the shelf for a while then they might be useless!. also, since it's a more direct form of b12 it might cause unwanted side effects!. If you eat fortified foods then you should be fine!. I used to take b12 shots at the doctors and now I'm taking sublingual cyanocobalamin tablets and they seem just as good!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, the only reliable sources of vegan B12 are fortified foods and supplements!. B12 is not made by animals, it is produced by bacteria!.
Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies can easily offer everything that you need except B12!.

All vegetarians should take a B12 supplement regularly since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yet still have a B12 status that is lower than recommended!.

No, sprouts are not a good source of b12!. B12 supplements and foods fortified with vitamin b12 (like soymilk) are the only reliable sources, according to the organization Vegan Outreach!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Don't even think about taking a B12 supplement!!! All the additives they add in there is so unacceptable! You can get B12 by drinking "KOMBUCHA" You'll find it at your local health food store! It is organic and raw! Www@FoodAQ@Com
