Is it unvegetarian of me to eat meat sauce?!
Okay, I've been a vegetarian for like 2 weeks, and I had this CRAVING of meat!. It was during a BBQ and I grabbed bread and dabbed it on the steak!. I hate myself for doing that, but I just wanted to know if it's 'accepted'!. Curiousity!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's not really vegetarian, but you're trying! It sounds less like you were craving meat as you were the flavors of the BBQ!. Next time you go to a BBQ, bring along something else to grill!. Drench it in BBQ sauce!. Grill it well so it gets those little black lines on it!.
It won't taste like meat, but it will have some of the same textures and flavors of the barbecue that you miss!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It really depends on what kind of vegetarian you are!.
Semi-vegetarian : you don't consume red meat, but sometimes eat poultry or seafood
Vegetarian : won't eat meat or fish
Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian: eats eggs and dairy but no fish or meat
Lacto vegetarian: consumes dairy but no meat or fish
Vegan: eats no foods that contain any animal products
Strict Vegan: doesn't eat or wear anything that comes from animals
Pescetarian: eats fish but no meat
There are a few more types as well!.
It really depends how intense a vegetarian you are, I wouldn't worry about it too much!. There's no "vegetarian police" that will tell you what's right and wrong for you!. When I first started, I couldn't handle myself and ate a hot dog!.
Just remember that there are tofu dogs and veggie burgers as well ( I can't taste the difference:)

Yes, that's non-vegetarian!. It's like eating sauce in which meat was cooked and then strained out!. So no, it's not acceptable on a vegetarian diet!.
When you first go veg, it's not uncommon to have cravings!. Ride them out!. Go with them!. Remind yourself of why you went veg!. Almost all of us go through this!.
And as someone else said, next time you go to a BBQ, make sure there's food there you can eat!. Bring some veggie burgers or veggie dogs, whatever you like at a BBQ and make sure you cook it before the other folks start cooking their flesh!. Or if you cook during, lay some aluminum foil down on the grill so your food doesn't touch the girll where meat was!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

As others have mentioned, it's hard at first!. Go to meetyourmeat!.org to help yourself have things to think about when you're tempted!. I've been a veggie for 5 years now, and that website has helped me a great deal!. The cravings for meat will eventually stop completely!. I'm never even tempted as I know that I'd be eating the flesh of a tortured animal who died a terrible death!. I don't want to be a part of that!. Anything that has even touched meat is considered a meat item!. There are many options, I do eat eggs that are from cage free hens, and I love tofu, which also takes getting used to but if you cook it in yummy things, it adapts that flavor!. Good luck, be proud of yourself for starting this vegetarian journey!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Well, it ain't veggie to eat any meat, even the grease of a bbq steak!. But - relax - you've only been veggie for 2 weeks, it's bound to take time!.
Don't hate yourself, just keep trying - two weeks and a slight stumble is better than not at all, isn't it!
You've set foot on the path, you can climb the mountain, but take it at your own pace, not anyone else's - well done so far!Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's a tough question, so I am not really sure!
But I personally think it's more important to worry about the welfare of animals than whether or not you licked some steak sauce!.
This means don't buy meat, don't support the companies who slaughter, etc!. It's all about making a difference in animal rights!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, your bread soaked up essentially the cooked blood of a dead animal!. That is NOT what is considered vegetarian!. Don't feel too bad about it though!. It's not a question of whether or not it's accepted!. You are the one who will decide what's right for you!. The very fact that you are asking this question is a very positive sign!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
yes it is!.!.!. I'm sorry but meat is in the meat sauce!.!.!. :( its ok, you have to start out slow!. for some the transformation is a difficult process!. read about how animals are treated and listen to what they people have seen, this will most likely turn anyone with a heart away from animals products!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
No, that's not vegetarian, you basically soaked up blood and beef fat!.
I guess it's a better way of satisfying a craving than chowing down on a steak, but if you plan on making it a habit, you're not a vegetarian!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Same thing happened to me, and I am not a vegetarian!. But I tried it!. I have sworn off beef and pork!. Your body craves what it thinks it needs!. You may just need some more protein in your diet!. I think you could kick that craving by having an egg or some beans and rice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
personally, it still comes from an animal that was killed, so i think so!. But I'm not a vegetarian so I'm not exactly sure, but trust me, it probably gets really hard after 2 weeks, so I don't blame you!. :) Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com
yes because meat sauce is made with meat, and since it was touching meat, thats even worse!. so you basically just ate meat!. not everyone is cut out to be vegetarian, if its too much for you then you shouldnt feel bad about going back to eating meatWww@FoodAQ@Com
no!. vegetarians do not eat any meat!. that includes fish, sea food, anything containing gelatin, and yes, meat sauce!. its normal to miss it at first, but just stick with it! after a while, its really easy!. good luck! : )Www@FoodAQ@Com
No dude, if you're a vegetarian you can't eat meat sauce!. You can't dab your bread on meat!. You can't eat stuff that's been cooked in chicken broth!. Vegetarian means NO MEAT!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Why'd you do that!. Vegetarians are usually so used to non-meat foods, that they no longer have the craving for meats!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
well!.!.!.!.!. if theirs no actual meat in the sauce, i guess its fine!.
good luck?Www@FoodAQ@Com
