Veg@ns and cravings?!
Since i've been a veg@n i've never really had a craving for any meat but I have cravings i've never really had before!. I crave salty and sweet things a lot!. Does anyone else have similar cravings or is it just me!? What are some healthy alternatives to eating salty chips and fries or sweet oreos or cookies!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
When you crave sweet things go get a Lara bar or a Cliff Bar!.
When you crave salty put a little sea salt on a healthy dish of lentils and rice or something!. My best advice on the salt is learn not to give in to the cravings too much because too much sodium can raise your blood pressure!. I definitely would not get into the habit of eating salted nuts!. Salted nuts are a bit addictive for a lot of people!. So it's best to eat them unsalted!.
You can find certain brands of rice and multi-grain chips that contain just enough salt to taste but not enough to do significant damage!. That is as long as you don't eat too many!.
Types of moderately salted chips that come to mind are " Food Should this Good", Soy Crisps, and Pita Chips!.

Edit-I forgot to mention stevia!. You can put the stevia the all-natural vegan sweetener into things like herbal tee or on top of bitter fruits!. That's a good healthy way to get rid of a sugar fit also!.

also certain brands of Tortilla chips contain a little bit of salt without being overwhelming!. You can get or make a low salt salsa to go along with it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pepitas (pumpkin seeds) are great for the salty cravings, and you can roast them yourself and salt them to your liking!.
As for sweet, a healthy fix is a banana and handful of (any) berries, blended with half a cup of crushed ice!. You can add almost any fruit, but the banana is what makes the shake creamy!.
BUT for that serious craving (and sometimes healthy just won't cut it ;D ) you have to check out the Post Punk Kitchen!. Its the website of Isa Moskowitz and Terry Romero, the fantastic vegan cooks who between them have written some of the best vegan cookbooks out there including my personal favourite "Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World"!. I have tried lots of the recipes on the site (submitted by Isa and Terry as well as other users) and they usually work really well, but to (kind of) answer your question:
I'd have to say that there is nothing more craving-satisfying than a batch of chocolate chip biscuits!Www@FoodAQ@Com
