Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies can easily offer everything that you need except B12!.

All vegetarians should take a B12 supplement regularly since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yet still have a B12 status that is lower than recommended!.

i used to be a vegetarian until i found out i was anemic!. i don't know where you live but here in LA there are a lot of soy products you can eat!. They are usually in the dairy section or with the cold cuts!. Tofu is great just need to get over the texture and make sure you use a lot of sauce!. Beans are good, spinach as protein, are you giving up dairy!? Need to decide what type of vegetarian you want to be as well!. Beans and rice is great!. Take suppliments and make sure your proteins are complete!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

First getting your protein from animal meat is actually just getting it second hand!. They got it from somewhere else first, ie!.!.!.the grass they ate, etc!.
Veggies have a lot of protein to began with!. To get a balanced diet mix legumes with whole grains!. Whole grains with nuts!. Mushrooms are a very good source of protein!. And eat lots of fruit and veggies!. All the colors of the rainbow don't just eat one or two types of fruit and veggies try to eat a wide variety!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Boca and Morningstar are both vegan companies that produce mock susage, burgers, chili, corndogs, anythign really, but without the meat in it!. it DOES have lots of protein though!.

Fyi, the only complete protein meal out there is rice and beans!. It had every bit of protein as a steak, without the meat in it!. try mixing white ride and kidnyebeans with some cajun seasoning, garlic, and salt!. its fabulousWww@FoodAQ@Com

What you need to watch for is B12, iron, and protein!. B12 is found in spirulina and soy milks fortified with b12!. Iron is found in dark green vegetables!. Protein is found in veggie meats, beans, nuts, and soy!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

BAsically the only thing you need from meats is protein, when I thought killing animals to eat them was cruel (dumb, to tell the truth) I at tons of nuts!. That gives you protein!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pumpkin seeds, tofu and beans are high in protein!.

Here is a good website with protein levels!.
