Interesting link!. Listeria can be fatal, the worst part is that, unlike other microbes, it can multiply at low temperatures, meaning it can grow in numbers even in your fridge!. Soft cheeses are a high risk food for listeria contamination!.

Anyway, congrats on going vegetarian!. (Good choice)!. :-) This is my fave veggie recipe!. It's so good and it's easy to make too which is a plus:

You may find it easier to cut meat out gradually rather than going meat free overnight, it's whatever suits you!. Don't forget there are meat alternatives that make the transition a lot easier!. They're available at most supermarkets!.

Happy cooking :]Www@FoodAQ@Com

Processed meats should not be eaten regularly anyways, but not because of the danger of Listeria - Listeria is also found in hot dogs, deli meats, raw milk, cheeses (particularly soft-ripened cheeses like feta, Brie, Camembert, blue-veined, or Mexican-style “queso blanco”), raw and cooked poultry, raw meats, ice cream, raw vegetables, raw and smoked fish and the green lip mussel!.

I'm afraid food borne illnesses are getting to be a fact of life - the less packaged our foods the better - and buy close to home!. There is no garanteeWww@FoodAQ@Com

We don't you get a vegetarian cookbook and see how you like it!. My favorite is the Rebar book!. Lots of normal food!. Moosewood is also good!. That way you can try out a few of the recipes and see if you still would like to cut meat out of your diet!.
