They're not vegetarians!. I'm not veg, but I'm somewhat familiar with the lifestyle!. There are different reasons why people adopt the variations of the diet!. Some are pro-animal rights and some just do it for health reasons!. I think what you're describing is people who just don't eat red meat, probably because they just don't like it or feel it's unhealthy!. I doubt many of them do it for the animal rights, because, as you said, it wouldn't make sense!. I've heard that people who eat occasional amounts of fish and poultry but no red meat are semi-vegetarian, those that eat fish and seafood but no poultry or red meat, are pescetarian, and those that eat poultry but not red meat, fish, or seafood are pollotarian (or something like that)!. I think these are the people that choose their diet based on health reasons, or, possibly religion, such as the way Jewish people do not eat pork, rather than animal rights!. Then there are lacto-ovovegetarians who eat dairy produce and eggs but no meat of any kind, and lactovegetarians who eat dairy products but no eggs or meat!. These people may either be that way for health reasons or animal rights!. Some people are opposed to killing animals for the use of food, but are not opposed to things like dairy farming, as long as they don't feel the animals are being mistreated!. Then, you have the true vegans who abstain from all food of animal source, possibly for health reasons, animal rights, or both!. Many of these people don't believe in any use of animals for human food consumption!. So it all all just goes back to the individual's personal beliefs as to what type of vegetarianism they practice and why!. I don't know that all of that's accurate, it's just my understanding of it!. Hope it helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
**Ive struggled for a long time rather to be a vegetarian or not!. Currently I am not, but I have been!. And I've been vegetarian for as long as a year at a time!.
My decision not to eat pork and shellfish have nothing to do with animal rights, or the welfare of animals!. When I was vegetarian (and I may go vegie again) has had nothing to do with animal wellfare!. Curently my choices of what meats to eat and what ones not to eat are based on the rules in the Old Testament!. But it is also based on health reasons!. Not eating meat is one of the healthiest diets ever, but you can do worse things to your health than eat meat!.

Hello!.
It seems that you confused up the names!.
Vegetarians are people who do not eat meat or fish!. There is another label for people who eat meat or fish every once in a while but I really get mad when I listen to that!. Being a vegetarian does not mean eating meat or fish every once in a while or rarely, it means removing them completely from your diet!.
Vegans, on the other hand, are those who exclude all animal products like meat, fish, diary products etc!.!.!. That means no milk and no eggs and many times no honey!. also, it means refusing to wear or use any goods that come from animals such leather and wool!.
If you do know people who eat meat or fish once in a while or rarely, let them know that they are not vegetarians!.
Hope I helped!

No, he's right!. My cousin, for example, claims she doesn't like to eat animals but eats CHICKEN!. I always tell her she's not a vegetarian and if she doesn't like eating cows, then why should she eat chickens!? Not that I force my vegetarianism on anyone, it's just that one specific cousin!.
So to answer your question, they aren't true vegetarians!. They might do it because they don't like eating cows or pork but enjoy other, less fatty poultry!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

First, NO vegetarian eats chicken or fish!. Or any other animal, for that matter!. The people who call themselves vegetarians while eating animals grind my gears, too!. But, maybe it's a transition for them!. And maybe I can understand that eating less meat is better for the animals than doing nothing at all!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You know what!? I DON'T CARE!! And if i see you i'll eat you too!. Life is not a game, where this is terrible, thats unfair, humans cheat at life, blah, blah, blah!! If an animal was hungry they wouldn't think twice about killing and eating you!. There are no real rules in this world, only ones that we assign for society and think of as correct!. But in reality there is no fair and unfair, no rules in the wilderness!. Humans win because we use our resources; brain!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Posing the question as such is misleading!. No vegetarian eats fish or chicken!. People who call themselves vegetarian and that eat fish or chicken are most likely just very misinformed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
They are not vegetarian!.
But if they eat chicken and fish, it's probably because there is hardly any chance of them going extinct!. They probably eat only free range and organic aswell!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
