Couple of Vegan Questions???!
Will you eat something if it says 'May contain traces of dairy', what if it says 'Most likely contains traces of dairy'!.
If you owned your own chickens, and the animals were obviously not mistreated would you eat the eggs!?!?
If you are out, or at someone else's house and a food appears to be vegan, but has some unknown ingredients, will you just risk it and eat it!?
Have you ever slipped and eaten something that wasn't vegan on accident!?
Just wondering!! Thanks! ; )Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes because the product is still vegan, the may is for people with allergies, it normally means they are producing it in a non-vegan factory near non-vegan foods and materials, which almost all factories are like that!.

No I would not, despite the fact I do not like eggs and do not need them for anything, eggs pretty much equals menstruation for chickens which is disgusting on top of the fact there are health problems associated with eggs that I rather avoid!.

It depends, sometimes yes other times no, it is best not to eat food without knowing it's origins, especially if you are a vegan!.
Have you ever slipped and eaten something that wasn't vegan on accident!?especially think most vegans have, especially vegans that have be vegan for a while, most of the time it is accidental though!. Once I was about a couple of months into my veganism and I drank orange juice that had Vitamin D3 which is derived from an animal (Vitamin D2 is derived from plant source) but I did not know till after it was halfway gone!. I felt really bad about it, but I knew it was a mistake!.
You welcome! Peace!Www@FoodAQ@Com

"May contain traces of dairy" simply means the food is manufactured in the same place as foods made with dairy, or on the same equipment and they wash it between batches!. They are legally required to put it on the label due to potential allergy concerns!.
I have no problem eating products like that, and gladly support manufacturers that ARE making vegan products!. They're not using dairy to make the thing being sold!.
Dairy doesn't disgust me in the way meat does, I just don't eat it or support it economically!.
How picky any individual is, is up to them!. I'm generally purist, but purism doesn't do animals much good, and being really picky can turn people off veganism: it makes it look obsessive and negative!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I wouldn't eat anything that said "may contain traces of dairy" and I certainly wouldn't eat anything that said "most likely contains traces of dairy" lol :) I'm kind of a strict vegan, and I won't eat anything that comes with a "might contain traces of blah blah blah"!. I don't care if it's only a small chance, there is still a chance and to me that is morally incorrect if I eat it and know that it might contain dairy!. However, there are plenty of vegans out there that wouldn't care and would eat it anyways!. Haha, I really don't mind!.!.everybody's different and has different personal preferences!.
Anyways moving on!.!.!.if I had my own chickens, I would not eat the eggs!. Why!? Because I think eggs are gross and not needed in our diets!. Besides, they belong to the mother hen!. That would be kind of harsh to take her only posessions away from her!.
Alrighty so next question!.!.!.if the food appears to be vegan, I would ask and make sure!. Usually the person who made the food will know the ingredients in it!. If they didn't make it, I would politely ask to see the box or previous packaging the food was in and check the label!. Like I said, I'm kind of strict and definetly picky!.
And have I ever slipped and eaten something that wasn't vegan!? Boy have I! I've accidentally eaten pieces of chicken that were in a pasta, I mindlessly ate a gummy worm, I ate french fries that were cooked in chicken lard and one tiime I gave in and ate a whole burger from Carl's Jr!. Phew! Thankfully I have cracked down and have not had an 'accident' in almost a year!.
Okay well sorry my answer was kind of long (and maybe even a little bit boring) but there you have it! Hope I helped!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
