What are the consequences...?!
Recently, I have been experiencing problems with meat!. For example, whenever I eat meat my stomach gets really upset and I can't eat for a while!. ( I'm okay with chicken though) and I was having thoughts about becoming a vegetarian, but I was wondering, "What are the consequences besides not being able to eat meat!?" (I'm not a big meat fan either and I don't want to live on chicken if that is the only meat I could eat!. So does anyone know any consequences!?
also, I heard that vegetarians need to take pills to get protein, is their any other way to get protein!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Vegetarians do not, NOT, need to take protein supplements!. The people who say that know little to nothing about human nutrition!. Ask your doctor if (s)he has ever in the course of their career, treated a case of kwashiorkor!. Never heard of it!? Yeah, that's because nobody in the developed world suffers from protein deficiency (except maybe anorexics!.)
Eat a balanced diet and there are no negative consequences to not eating meat, besides having to answer the protein question over and over again!. Google the vegetarian food pyramid and follow it!. Protein is the building block of life; plants are made of it!. Eat plenty of legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, fruits and vegetables and get enough calories to meet your energy needs and you will never have to think twice about protein!.
For complete coverage of vegetarian nutrition, I highly recommend "The New Becoming Vegetarian" by Brenda Davis and Vesanto Melina, both registered dietitians!. It's a great resource!.
(Vegetarians do not eat chicken or fish - or any other animals!. Choose for yourself what you do and do not want to eat, but please don't call yourself a vegetarian if you are going to be eating dead animals!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a raw vegan and have no problems at all, in fact true raw vegans are not going to worry about protein especially since it is their in all the food that we consume, which are veggies, fruits, seeds and nuts!. also green juice/smoothie are like a staple meal!. There are plenty of nutrients in those!. You actually well have more benefits once you rid yourself of all the meat, diary and processed foods!. If anything just do a lot of research once you make your mind up, plus if you do decide to change your diet buy a recipe book it helps! Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
