Thickeners.. are they vegan-approved?!

Question: Thickeners!.!. are they vegan-approved!?
I've been looking at ingredients in foods such as canned soup which have 'thickeners' in them!. What are they and are the vegan-friendly!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It would depend on what the thickener is!. Arrowroot, cornstarch, tapioca, potato starch are all plant-based thickeners!. I don't even know what a non-vegan thickener would be, but your best bet is to call the company and ask!. Or make your own soup (canned soup is usually chock full of sodium even if you can find one that doesn't have meat broth in it!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends on the thickener!. I use potatoes to thicken my soup so I wouldn't know about canned!. Cornflour is used in a lot of foods to make them thicker!. I don't know any other thickeners!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would contact the company!. I rarely buy canned soup because I don't like the flavor, but when I do, I typically get Amy's, which are all vegetarian, and some are vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I only eat homemade soup!. It really is very easy to make!. By doing that you know what goes in there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
