Uh, why are you wasting your life worrying about what other people are doing!? You do know there are starving people in the world you could be focusing your time on helping instead of putting others down for what they believe is the right thing to do right!?!?!?!?!?

I think you need to go back to school, people DO NOT become vegetarians to make other people be vegetarians also!. Do you realize how dumb you sound!? YOU sound like you are on crack!.

If you want to eat meat that is fine, but all you are doing by asking this stupid question is making those who want to help animals fight even harder for them!.

Have a good day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Who the hell said I was trying to stop other people from eating meat!? You have a very basic misunderstanding of vegetarians!.

I believe that the way we breed, raise, feed, medicate, mutilate, artificially inseminate, confine, transport and slaughter animals is wrong!. It's unethical, it's wasteful, it's an environmental nightmare, it's corrupt, it's unhealthy (for animals and for people,) and it's brutal and unnecessary!. So, I don't participate in it!. Period!.

Nowhere in my reasoning did I extend it beyond myself to you or anyone else!. If you don't mind degrading the planet and making sentient beings suffer for your tastebuds, that's your decision!. But I think you might have to be on crack to not see how ugly it all is!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't not eat meat to get others to stop eating meat, I do it because I hate the way we use animals as a means to our ends!. Getting others to not eat meat involves more than not doing it myself!. However it would be nearly impossible to get others to not eat meat if I did eat meat myself!. By not eating meat I am reducing the demand for meat (by a very tiny amount, yes, but every bit helps, like with voting, one vote never (or rarely, I'm sure it has before!.!.!.) wins someone the election, it is the collective votes of many people) so that in the future the farmers will supply less meat, reducing the suffering endured by these animals, until hopefully someday (although it will be far far in the future) people will not use animals unnecessarily (although its not really ever necessary to use them) anymore!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hey Latasha,

I must be on crack, because since I went vegan I have gotten 6 other people to stop eating all animal products as well!. I guess I'm just really persuasive!. I would estimate that an average American meat eater would spend about $2,000 or more per year on animal products!. So, multiplied by 6 people that's about $12,000 dollars a year that we are not going to contribute to torture and slaughter!.

The reason I do not eat meat is b/c I think it is wrong to kill an animal just for the taste of it!. I have no intention of converting the masses to a vegetarian diet, or changing the world!.

I follow my own moral convictions, even if that means going against the grain!. Just b/c animals will still be killed, does not mean I have to throw up my hands and contribute to it as well!. I'm against child abuse, and just b/c there are always going to be people out there that hurt children, does not mean I should give up my ethics and morals and abuse children as well!.

I'm not sure why you spend your time worrying about what other people do!. You seem to have a very limited view on the world!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a vegetarian because I don't like meat!. Seriously, what's to like about a slab of decomposing animal flesh!? Honestly, I think that's just the most disgusting thing ever!. No, I don't think I can stop other people from eating meat, but the fact that I don't eat meat decreases the demand for it!. One person can make a difference, no matter how small!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

You must be on the rock because this "question" makes absolutely no sense!.

When I choose not to eat meat, I stop **myself** from eating meat!. Do you seriously think that it's more complicated than that!?

I don't eat anything that comes from an animal because I refuse to support practices such as this:
http://video!.google!.com/videoplay!?docid=!.!.!.
http://factoryfarming!.org
http://www!.veganoutreach!.org/whyvegan

I am fine with people killing animals and eating them even though I would never do it myself!. I am against forcing animals to be born, live and die in completely unnatural and unbearable conditions!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think that is more a personal choice rather than a kind of protest or way to get others to stop eating meat!. You will of course run into those who are vegetarians, that will try to convince you otherwise!. But, ultimately in the end it is all up to a person to choose what they want!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've helped 2 people to go vegan and 3 people to go vegetarian that I know of!. So I think I'm firmly grounded in reality!.

Animal rightists are under no illusion that the world will suddenly become full of compassion!. It seems as if most people are incapable of change We do what we can to reduce the suffering caused on earth and reach out to those who care!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

What is it with people these days!? They always try to assume they know the reason why someone goes vegan or vegetarian!. Sorry for the anger - but this is just plain rude!. I don't ask you why you eat dead animal flesh!. What's it to you!? Don't ask me why I'm vegan!.!.!. ask yourself why you're not!

Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yeah pretty much so you would have to be on crack!. How is it going to stop anyone else from eating meat just because you don't!? That's their preference and more power to ya but it isnt going to change anyone else unless they are sheep!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just as evangelical Christians are under the illusion that they will sooner or later convert everybody to Christianity, evangelical vegetarians are under the analogous illusion!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
