I just ate a vegan chocolate chip cookie and it tasted like it had banana in it. I'm wondering..?!
do they use banana instead of eggs or oil!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Yes, I used to bake at a place that did a lot of vegan baking!. Banana was something I used a lot to replace the eggs, it works really well in vegan recipes!. It helps the cookies stay moist like the eggs in the original cookie would!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Yeah, the cookie most likely uses banana as the replacement for eggs!. Bananas are very commonly used as an egg replacement, like silken tofu, applesauce, flax seeds or a specific commercial product!. Bananas aren't the most common egg replacement used for making cookies, but their use makes them taste pretty good anyway!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Bananas are just one possible ingredient in egg-free baking!. They hold a lot of air, so they provide structure to baked goods (this is why most banana bread recipes don't call for eggs!.!.!. they aren't needed!.)
Not all vegan baking will employ banana, though!. There are also powdered starch-based egg replacers and other ingredients like ground flax seeds, pureed silked tofu and soy yogurt make great "egg" depending on the flavor and/or texture you're trying to achieve!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Others already answered this pretty well!.!.!.banana can be used in baked goods as an egg sub!. Personally, I prefer flax, applesauce, or silken tofu for most things, but I'll use banana in certain things!.
I'm just replying to correct Serious Lee!. Most cooking/baking oil is vegan!. Olive, corn, canola, peanut, sesame, generic vegetable oil, et cetera, et cetera!.!.!.all vegan!. Unless you're using butter or lard (or non-vegan margarine), it's most likely vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
