What's the point of beeing vegetarian?!

Question: What's the point of beeing vegetarian!?
can somebody explain to me plz!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I do not see any reasonable point except:

Some people become vegetarian because of "health purposes"!.
THe only reason i can think is this otherwise this theory that says:

"We do not want to kill or eat another animal, which is alive to feed ourselves!."
I think this theory ain't make no sense because if u think like that even plants are like animals, they have feelings, they have reproduction, they are important to lots of people!.!.!.!.!.

SO IF U DONT WANT TO KILL ANYTHING THAT IS ALIVE, THEN U SHOULD JUST STARVE lol
this is the way nature works, "u kill u feed & u die" lolWww@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a vegetarian on moral grounds- i don't think people should eat animals!. Some people become vegetarian for health issues- if properly managed, vegetarian and vegan diets can easily be more healthy than meat-consuming ones!. Another reason is to lose weight (i lost quite a lot)!. A final perk i have found is that due to the fact that you don't get your calories from meat, you can eat a larger amount of non-meat junk food :)

Danielle's reasoning is very flawed and inaccurate!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I became a vegetarian to save the animals! I read about all the factory farms and animal mills and stuff and decided that maybe I could help!. But different people do it for different reasons!. My cousin Kiera went vegetarian for the same reason as me, but she started before me!. My grandmother was vegetarian because she didn't feel like eating meat anymore!. Those are the only two others in my family who were vegetarians, though!. Some people do it for health reasons, and some do it for spiritual and religious reasons!. Some just do it because it's a change, and it makes life more interesting!. Some do it to help save the Earth!. There are so many different reasons for people to become vegetarians!Www@FoodAQ@Com

For the Environment:
The raising of animals for food is the number one contributor to global warming; it creates more greenhouse gases than all forms of transportation combined!.

For your Health:
Animals in industrial situations are routinely given feed laced with pesticides, to decrease the numbers of insects on their feces- a major problem in factory farms!. They are injected with huge amounts of hormones and antibiotics, which can be found in all cuts of meat!. These substances have been linked to several types of cancer and other diseases!.
Meat eaters have higher rates of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and colon cancer!.

For the Animals:
Veal crates, battery cages, gestation crates, slaughterhouse practices!.!.!.

It's healthy, I have the utmost respect for those who don't eat animals!. I was brought up eating animals and I haven't the will power to give it up, yet the thing I hate most in the world is cruelty to animals and if I had to kill an animal so that I could have a steak!.!.!.!. it just aint happening! I am a hypocritical meat eater, I get my meat from a supermarket not an animal! That's how I sleep at night!. Good on you vege's! you are better than me! But please don't judge me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The whole issues of being vegetarian is 1!. to be kind to your body and
2!. to show compassion and respect for the animals!.

Man are born to be herbivore, not omnivore!.

Many vegetarian websites have detailed explanations on importance of these two issues but if you do not have an open mind to think about them (because you simply cannot give up your favourite meat), there's nothing much we can do!.

If you're ready to learn more, I recommend two useful sites in the sources!. Or you can get a free e-copy of Erik Marcus' world-famous "Vegan-The New Ethnics of Eating" from www!.ionehealth!.comWww@FoodAQ@Com

My diet is about 95% vegetarian, but I still eat meat occasionally because I enjoy my food!. I realise some people are against killing animals and I respect that, but I was brought up on a farm and I look at life differently!. I now live abroad where meat is the main diet, though this area is the best in Europe for growing vegetables!. Since moving here I realised that and I do feel good and I can control my weight!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is only partially a health issue!.

The best way I can tell you is this, and I got this philosophy from the book "Dance of Days: The History of Punk in the Nation's Capital"!.!.!.

(paraphrasing)"out of all the animals, humans have the ability to CHOOSE not to kill!. since we can do so, why not make that choice!?"Www@FoodAQ@Com

101 Reasons to go vegetarian:
http://www!.flex!.com/~jai/articles/101!.ht!.!.!.
@Sinaldo!.!. Oh please!. Please go back to basic biology class!. Plants and animals are different!. Granted, plants are alive but they don't feel pain and meat eaters actually kill MORE plants than vegans! (because by eating just plants vegans eat lower on the food chain)Www@FoodAQ@Com

i don't think it's right to torture animals and have them suffer and in pain so i can have a burger from a drive thru at mcd's!.!.!.!. they feel pain just like we do!.!.!. so why would i want to support putting them in pain!? so i can have a burger!? sorry, tasting that burger is not worth knowing i supported something being in agony!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are a lot of reasons out there!. Personally I became vegetarian, and now vegan, because my doctor recommended it for my health; I was always so sick and run down!. It worked so well for me that a decade later I'm still meat-free and ultra healthy!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The point!? My body feels clean and healthy not eating meat!. I like that I stay in shape without a lot of work and that I almost never get sick!. And I think food tastes a lot better without meat!. Knowing that I'm not causing animals to suffer is a great bonus!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

whats it to you !?

its a matter of choice, you either eat meat or you dont

its your choice - no one should judge you or question you or ask you what the POINT is!.!.!.!.!. simple as thatWww@FoodAQ@Com

well its really someones choice really!. or their just born with it!. like me, i was born as a vegetarianWww@FoodAQ@Com

1!. anti animal cruelty !.!.!.!.!. that's my reason for being veggie!.

2!. you are much more healthy !.!.!.!. less risk of cancer and heart disease/stroke due to high cholesterol etc!.

Www@FoodAQ@Com

Some of us just don't want to make our bodies a graveyard for the rotten corpses of dead animals!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

To live a long and healthy life!.!.!.there is no nutritional value in dead animal flesh!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You don't "kill" any animals plus some meats are bad for you anyways!Www@FoodAQ@Com

The point and only benefit to being vegetarian is health issues!.

While humans are designed to eat meat aswel as vegetables, we are not designed to eat as much meat as we all do if we are meat-eaters!. So, compared to that, vegetarian is much healthier!. Of course, even healthier would be eating meat in the right quanitities aswel as the veg, but that is very hard to do when meat is available to you, so it can be easier just to cut it out completely and take suppliments!. This would be ALOT healthier than eating too much meat which many of us do!.

Like the answerer above me, it can also benefit personal health issues to be vegetarian or vegan!. I would suspect the above answerer is still very careful in choosing which brands of foods to buy, to make sure theres nothing nasty in what he/she eats :) This is a very healthy lifestyle in general!.

Many people will say it's for moral reasons, but that is void!. Crops, fields and land where vegetables are harvested (or special vegetarian foods are grown to supply the growing population of vegetarians) are a massacre of dead animals!. Rabbits and other small mammels, ground nesting birds etc!. Land used for 'vegetation' purposes are also more likely to destroy habitats of many animals in a wide radius of where it is grown!. So in reality, being vegetarian is no more 'moral' than eating meat itself, and can even be 'less moral' when you consider all the habitats destroyed for specialist grown foods!. Land used for free-range animals for meat does not destroy habitats!.

With morality - it's 'killing animals for use' vs 'killing animals to be left to rot for no use, just to grow vegetation'!. You can decide on the morality of each yourself!.

If you want to live a more moral lifestyle in regards to food, you would have to grow and supply yourself with ALL food stuff in an eco-friendly way!. Some people do actually do this!. It is the only way to stand on the moral high ground with what you eat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The whole point of being vegetarian is so you can tell other people how bad they are!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
