Does this mean my TOFU was bad?!

Question: Does this mean my TOFU was bad!?
I froze some tofu and later thawed it but then had it in the fridge for several days!. After cooking it I tried to eat it but it was like eating a sponge so I threw it out!. Is that a sign that it was bad!? I was trying to look up some answers online but none really helped!. It was firm tofu and I did not drain it just put the package straight in the freezer and thawed it by leaving it out!. I didnt leave it out for real long it was still very cold when I put it in the fridge and I dont remember exactly how many days it was in the fridge!. Thank you for any answers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No it wasn't bad!.

If tofu is allowed to ferment it will have a bitter taste!.

If it has a high bacterial count you may not know it until it is too late!. Always buy tofu where you know that it is being held at 40 degree F or below!.

The texture of your tofu changed due to the freezing processWww@FoodAQ@Com

No, it wasn't bad! I just thawed some frozen tofu today to make little 'chicken' nuggets!. The texture is much firmer, and one of the pros to freezing is that it acts like a sponge!. That means you can add more flavoring to it!. It's great to marinate it, and I love baking frozen tofu because it really takes on a firm texture!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no it wasn't bad!. Tofu tastes real bitter when it's bad! Some recipes actually require sponge tofu! example spray cake pan with cooking oil lay sponge on bottom then add some graham crumbs on it then some brown sugar then add slice apples!.!. then bake in oven at medium heat!. When nearly done add some marshmallow topping and let that melt on top of it!.!. then remove from oven cut in squares or triangles and serve! Www@FoodAQ@Com

im currently having thoughts with this, so when i decided to buy and freeze tofu i did this,
i put them in zip bags and added extra water to some and none to others!. its an experiment to see which is better afterward!. so im anxious to see an answer to this, as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
