The authors of 'How it All Vegan' say that although they are vegan, they are making use of whatever animal products, (such as leather belts) they have but when the time comes to *renew* such items, they will purchase vegan alternatives!. However, there are some vegans who give away any accumulated animal products such as leatherbelts, wooly jumpers etc to charity shops!. Or you can give them away to family members, friends, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I just went vegan, and I have not thrown out my leather or wool!. I guess I don't see the point in throwing them out because a) I don't have the money to buy all new bags, sweaters, and shoes (and I would be left with a pair of rubber rain boots pretty much), and b) I think that if the animals died to produce the leather, you should at least try to enjoy the items and get your use out of them!. I'm not sure if I will cut out wool or leather entirely, either!. Wool because the animals didn't die so I don't feel as guilty!. Leather because it's very hard to find good quality, stylish bags and shoes that aren't Stella McCartney (out of my budget) and don't use leather!. I will definitely try to find alternatives when the time comes for new shoes or bags, but honestly I think that a nice leather bag will be a lot harder for me to give up than dairy and eggs!. Perhaps I will only buy leather if it has already been used and is at a thrift store so that it did not profit the original company!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I went vegan shortly after I saw "Meet Your Meat"!. I went vegetarian right after I saw that video!. I never ate meat again!. I did not immediatly throw all my wool sweaters, leather shoes and belts etc away!. I do not have any leather belts now!. I have a couple wool sweaters that I have had for years that I never wear and a pair of leather shoes I never wear!. If I had fur I would have given it to an animal rights organization to do street theatre with!. I also eventually got rid of all my makeup that had animal products in it!. It is important to make sure you do not throw away things that are not vegan simply because they are not vegan!. We do not need more stuff going into the landfills!. Instead donate it to charities!. There are a lot of people living on the streets that can use wool sweaters or leather shoes etc!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I lived with a meat eater when I went vegan (from vegetarian!.) So, he ate up all the non-vegan food!.

I still have wool, leather and silk that I owned before!. For most of those items, I will use them until they wear out and then replace with vegan options!. The rest was probably bound for Goodwill anyway!.

I replaced makeup, toiletries and other consumer goods as I used them up as well!. This took the better part of a year (I'd stockpiled mascara against some sort of makeup catastrophe!.!.!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Duuuude, i'm not a vegan!.

I tried to go vegan, but failed miserably :(

I didn't throw my stuff out, coz that would be pointless when i already bought it, i just didn't buy anymore and still dont but i now eat eggs & dairy products (i'm a veggiehead) xD

I'm sorry but I could never be vegan, I enjoy all the wonders that the animal kingdom brings us!. To throw out wooly jumpers!?!? I thought wool needed to be shawn from the breeds of sheep we have now anyway!. I can't see the harm in wool myself, I can appreciate leather or fur as the animals are killed, but is it really that bad to wear wool!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I just went vegan a few days ago!. I still have all the clothes I had before!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
