What are your favorite munchies!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
One of my favorites is popcorn!. There are endless delicious vegan toppings for popcorn, and it's awesome plain as well!. As long as you pop it yourself, anyway!. Microwave popcorn is inferior, even if it is vegan!. Trust me, pop it on the stovetop or buy an air popper!. They're pretty cheap, and buying a bag of popcorn kernels is also much cheaper and lasts a lot longer than a box of microwave popcorn!. Another thing I've always loved is tortilla chips & salsa!. There are a lot of unique salsas available in most grocery stores now!. Personally, I love those that have some kind of fruit added to them!.!.!.usually pineapple or mango!. The combination of spicy & sweet is excellent!. :) Nuts are great too!. I love raw unsalted almonds, or tamari almonds, cashews, pistachios, etc!. Fruit is super easy & quick!. Cereal is always great as a snack too!.!.!.either dry or with some kind of "milk"!. also, I'm a huge fan of raw carrots, especially baby carrots!. PB & J sandwiches are easy, quick, delicious & comforting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hummus

1 15-ounce can garbanzo beans (chick peas)
3 tablespoons tahini (sesame seed butter)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
1/4 teaspoon each cumin and paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt

Drain the beans and reserve the liquid!. Process the beans until smooth in a food processor using the steel knife, or mash them well with a potato masher or fork!. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well!.

The mixture should be moist and spreadable!. If it is too dry, add enough of the reserved bean liquid to achieve the desired consistency!.

*You can dip virtually anything in hummus - vegetable batons, crackers, crisps etc*

Oatmeal Chewies

5 cups oatmeal (moistened with water)
3 cups chopped cashews
3 cups organic thompson raisins
8 oz jar of sorghum
1 large or 2 small bananas

Pre-heat oven at 300-350 (depending on your oven)!. Pour oatmeal into bowl and moisten!. Blend banana and sorghum and then mix thoroughly into oatmeal!. Chop cashews and mix raisins and cashews into oatmeal mix!.

Spoon out onto lightly oiled pan into whatever size Oatmeal Chewies you wish to bake!. Bake 5-8 minutes!.

My all time fave vegan snacks are nuts and seeds (especially almonds) and fruit!. It's worth remembering that dried fruit (apricots, raisins etc) are a good source of iron!.
