Why is there corn in my poo? Doesn't my body like corn?!

Question: Why is there corn in my poo!? Doesn't my body like corn!?
I never understood that!. Since corn is a vegetable/starch, I would think that my body has some use for it, yet the way it just casts it aside, it makes me think it doesn't like it!. I've noticed the same phenomenon with peanuts, but to a lesser degree!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

LMAO:D This question just made my day, thank you so much!. The body cannot digest the outside of the corn, that is all!. The same thing goes for cherries I believe!. Not so sure about peanuts, but my guess is because you dont chew them enough before you swollow!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

LOL, that sounds like a like from Cheech and Chong!.!.!.!.

Actually the reason for that is that the outside of the corn kernel is not digestible by the human gut!.

In order to make corn actually digestible it needs to be soaked in a mildly alkaline solution and ground!. The native Americans did this by soaking the kernels with wood ash, but now a product called Cal is used (Calcium Hydroxide I think!. It's sold in Mexican stores as Cal)!. When the first Europeans brought Maize (Corn) back to Europe they didn't know about the alkaline process so they suffered from malnutrition!.

Just grinding the corn into meal will help, but the full nutritional value is not attained!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Our body can't digest corn's yellow outer shell, so it passes through us, this is what you see in your poo!. We use up all the good stuff found inside and use the fiber in the shell to help us keep from getting constipated!.

Peanuts are a different story!. If you don't chew them enough your body can't get all the nutrition from them so they pass through you!. Make sure to chew them up since it's hard on your gut having chunks of nuts passing through!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The parts of the corn you excrete are parts that have a lot of cellulose, an indigestible plant fiber!. Sometimes if you eat a lot of food you might not digest the corn's edible parts as well!. Corn just happens to be noticable because of it's color, but cellulose from other plants that you eat is in your poop as well!. Now flush please!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Is this really a relevant question about vegetarianism!. First off, corn is a grain!.!.not a vegetable and only the "shell" is passed through the body as it is undigestableWww@FoodAQ@Com

Oh, everyone gets that!. It's because corn has such a thick- I think it's called a seed coat!? Whatever it is, it's almost impossible to digest!.

Chew corn thoroughly to help counteract this!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ha ha ha!. Very interesting question, one of the great mysteries of life!. I've found a link which explains this phenomenon!.

See link: http://wiki!.answers!.com/Q/Why_can_humans!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your body is unable to digest all the cellulose!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's how the sewer plant knows it's corn day!. Sorry it does not break down!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cows have FOUR stomachs and it still comes out as corn!. Figure that one out!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes it likes it but corn is hard to digest!. it keeps a little of it and direct the rest out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Chew more, swallow less!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
