Just turned vegetarian, lately been feeling very lethargic?!

Question: Just turned vegetarian, lately been feeling very lethargic!?
I've given up meat for over two months, and lately I've started feeling very lethargic!. I get tired around midday and just feel like resting!. I feel physically lazy and kind of out of focus too!. I just feel so out
of energy!.
I think it's because of my diet!. I eat healthy foods (plenty of veggies) yet I don't know if I'm eating the right combinations!. Has anyone else experienced this while becoming a vegetarian!? What should I eat!?

Thank you!

I just switched to vegan after being an ovo-lacto vegetarian!. Immediately I noticed feeling more energetic, but I had been feeling very lethargic before I switched!. I think it's because I was eating WAY too much dairy - like with every meal - and not eating enough fruits, vegetables, and whole grains!. You may be feeling this way because you haven't learned what foods you need as a vegetarian!. My advice is to try to limit your intake of dairy (as it is hard to digest and can slow you down) and try to eat more whole grain foods (like brown rice, whole wheat pasta, whole grain bread, or oats) and just try to eat a lot of different foods!. Aim for 9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day!. If you don't eat much dairy, then you should take a B12 supplement!. Multivitamins are a good idea for anyone, as a precaution!. And try not to eat empty calories!. Instead of snacking on chips or crackers, snack on dried fruit, fresh fruit, vegetables with dip, or nuts!. Make sure that your meals are colorful (include many different foods) and try to eat protein, grains, and vegetables or fruits with every meal!. Here's a sample of a pretty healthy day of eating:

Breakfast:
Cheerios (grains) with nonfat milk or soymilk (protein) and a banana (fruit)

Lunch:
Pasta (grain with high protein content) with tomato sauce (fruit), parmesan (protein), and an apple (fruit)

Dinner:
Mixed vegetable stir fry (vegetables) with tofu (protein) and brown rice (grain)

Snacks:
Raisins and almonds
Cottage cheese

Dessert:
Canned pineapple, oatmeal cookies cookies

Everyone is different!.
When you alter your diet, you body needs to adjust!. Some feel great and energetic, while others feel poor and tired!. Often it's a lack of calories, plus your body expecting other foods, and you feed it something else!. You are feeling low blood sugar levels!. You need to eat more whole foods and whole grains etc!. Whole foods will help keep a steady blood sugar level!. Stay away from sugar, white flour, white rice, and such empty foods -- they give you a sugar level spike, then a big drop!. Eat more calories!.!.!. that should help!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Unlike a varied diet, which makes deficiency diseases almost impossible to get, a vegetarian diet requires constant careful attention in order to avoid deficiencies of all sorts!. Most common are protein (especially specific amino acids), iron, calcium, and various vitamin deficiencies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
