Recently gone vegetarian, information on vegan?!
I saw how bad things were for the poor animals just for humans to have a bit of meat with their dinner and decided i've had enough and felt terrible!. I've only been vegetarian for about a week now and its going great, but i recently found out that cows for example are forcibly impregnated to produce milk and when they cant produce enough theyre killed!. I think this is just as bad as eating meat to be honest but i adore milk and cheese and ive hear soya milk and "sheese" tastes bad!. is free range milk and eggs not the answer to this!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try it by all means, I'm a strict vegetarian and tried to go vegan!. I did it for about 6 weeks and just kept getting colds etc, as my immune system instantly became very weak!. It's very restricting and you will probably feel effects once you go vegan such as tiredness and low energy, due to total lack of protein!. So if you decide to do it take iron and protein supplements! I'm not gonna lie to ya, the fake cheese is just terrible, but the vegan butter is okay, and the milk is kinda nasty at first but you can get used to it!.
Cows on regular family farms seem to like to be milked! And you could go one step further and buy your eggs from a local farmer, then you know they really are free range chickens, who have layed the eggs naturally!.!.!. but i understand you wanting to go vegan as a veggie!. I personally just found it wasn't worth it and i felt so undernourished!. You can look in supermarkets like tesco (if you're in english!?!?!), and they have stuff like dairy and egg free bourbon biscuits and apple pies!!!!
You will generally end up eating tons of carbs too, and that's not greatly healthy either!.
I would advise you to try it if you really believe in it, because no one else can make your mind up for you!. But don't just be swayed or guilted by sites like the PETA (e!.g!. they say: "if meat is murder then dairy is rape"!), as the things they tell you can be untrue, or exaggerated, as obviously, they want to turn everyone vegan!
Perhaps try being vegan for a trial period, then see how it affects you and if you want to continue!.
Decide your views on dairy products for yourself, try to think about it rationally, logically, and emotionally, and weigh up the pros and cons of veganism!. And: do your research!
It will be a lot harder than you think!.
Hope this helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You have to do a lot of research and be very strong willed and mind, some people are vegan because eating diary make them ill so they have no choice, if you do it for ethical reasons then it is a lot easier these days as it is easier to buy food you can get vegan foods in your local supermarket where as it was very difficult 10 or 15 years ago!.
I love the taste of eggs and drink soya milk as I am lactose intolarant, I would become vegan for health reason but buy organic meat from farmers markets as I like to talk to the farmer and the meat is better quality!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hey i am a meat eater but I respect your decision!. Soy milk and cheese are not so bad once u get used to it and if you made your decision already, you will have to make some concessions!.!.also if you research the food you use you can usually find something that is made in a friendly way!.
also remember that until the time they are slaughtered the animals are given the best health care possible, and free range animals often get injured in random ways!.
good luck with your choice!. everyone else try to grow up!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

soy milk tastes all right but the cheese is disgusting!. Having it everyonce in a while won't hurt or when it's in something!. Personally I am vegetarian for the same reason but going completely vegan is out of the question (I'm somewhere in between)!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If you don't like mass produced milk and eggs, get them direct from a small farm - support local produce!.
I love this delivery place: http://www!.riverford!.co!.uk/
It'd work out a bit pricey if you bought a lot of stuff from there, but if you're just after a few bits it's great!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
