Answers:
first of all let me congratulate you for turning a vegetarian!.
but still you haven't become a pure vegetarian!.
The reason is the consuption of eggs
i can't understand why are you asking such question
eggs have chicks in them
it contains chick and when the hen gives them warmth, then the liquid inside it develops into a chicken slowly and gradually!.
the egg for the purpose of selling are taken away from its mother (hen or the any other specie)!.
as a result , since the egg doesn't recieve the warmth of its parent, the liquid inside fails to develop into a chicken and hence what we see is the unmatured juice or a baby which was killed before it could come into this world(that's just for a few money that it was killed before its mother could see her child whose formation had started inside the mother's body!.)
it's sometimes said that some species never give warmth to their eggs once it is touched by the our hands!.
now tell me that is it not a non-veg!?
the only difference is that in a nonn-veg we eat after killing an organism which lived once upon a time but in case of eggs we are eating the organism even before it could come to this world
imagine a mother's aborted( i!.e!. after abortion) child taken for a lunch!!!!!!!!
that sounds pretty wierd!.
but we don't consider the pains of animals
they also have love for their children in a similar way we possess!.
then why to kill their foetus!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.and them!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
remember when you are eating an egg, you are actually eating a foetus, u r actually eating a mother's child and u r actually contributing towards the assassination of an unborn specie!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
for God's sake give up this !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
God is only love and love is not only in humans but also in animals ; they too have families, they too want to live freely!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
sorry for taking so much time of yours!.!.!.!.!.but i was carried away while i was trying to convince you
i have a request: whatever answer you choose as the best one-that doesn't bother me but plzzz do
mention on whose advice did you decided to take such a good decision
Greetings

First reason is that eggs come from chicken so they are an animal product!.

Secondly, as stated above, many chickens are treated very poorly that are responsible for laying eggs!.

Thirdly, eggs can increase cholesteral!. However as a 16 year old vegitarian, I don't think you have to worry about that!.

I would actually recommend to continue eating eggs if you are not against the idea of it because as a vegitarian, you might be lacking protein, a necessary building block of life!. Egg protein is one of the best foods containing protein because the protein in eggs is absorbed 100% by your body!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not telling you not to eat eggs, but I'll tell you maybe you should!.

Cholesterol from eggs is a risk only if you eat more than a weekly requirement!. Eggs provide nutrients such as calcium, protein, carbs, iron, vitamin A!. The egg white is albumin, a protein!. Albumin from animals are higher in quality than from vegetable sources because of a higher quantity of amino acids!.

Considering that you're a female, you need to maintain your iron, calcium and protein supplements!. Eggs is one source of amino acids needed for growth and your metabolism!.

There, you make the decision!. Just remember that reducing essential vitamins, minerals, proteins and acids will affect you later in life, like being short, bent and loose skinned!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Why VEGETARIANS don't eat EGG!.!.!.!?

The word "vegetarian" is a generic blanket term used to describe anybody who does not eat meat, poultry, fish, or seafood!. This encompasses vegans and also the various vegetarian sub-groups!. Vegetarians are generally those people who have chosen a diet with far less restrictions than those chosen by a vegan!.
The differences between the various vegetarian sub-groups may appear to be small, but they are very important to the members who belong to each groups!. In many cases the distinctions are important dietary or ethical decisions taken by the individual!.

Here are the various vegetarian sub-groups:

SEMI-VEGETARIAN
===================================
Semi-vegetarians are people who have chosen to live a lifestyle which is not strictly vegetarian!. A semi-vegetarian may be a person who only eats meat occasionally, or perhaps doesn’t eat meat, but eats poultry and fish!.

1) Ovo-Lacto-Vegetarian
--------------------------------------!.!.!.
Ovo-lacto vegetarians are vegetarians who do not eat meat, poultry, fish, and seafood, but do eat eggs and milk!. This is by far the largest group of vegetarians!.

2) Ovo-Vegetarian
--------------------------------------!.!.!.
Ovo-vegetarians are people who would be classed as vegans if they did not eat eggs!.

3) Lacto-Vegetarian
--------------------------------------!.!.!.
Lacto-vegetarians are people who would be classed as vegans if they did not consume milk!.

VEGAN
======================================!.!.!.
This is by far the strictest vegetarian sub-group or category!.
A vegan is a person who has chosen not to consume any animal products or byproducts!. Some will even so far as not consuming honey and yeast, and others will not wear any clothing made from animal products!. Veganism is a diet and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose!. Vegans endeavor not to use or consume animal products of any kind!. The most common reasons for becoming a vegan are ethical commitment or moral convictions concerning animal rights, the environment, human health, and spiritual or religious concerns!. Of particular concern are the practices involved in factory farming and animal testing, and the intensive use of land and other resources required for animal farming!. Veganism never stops at eating habit alone, but continuous journey beyond!.

The Diet Evolution is Ethical Revolution which means "TRANSITION" from one to another for better!. There is no right or wrong arguments here, depending the era and time you're in, place, situation and intellectual position!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

1) The treatment of the chickens is an excellent reason!. Being caged, having their beaks cut off and being overfed and kept in a lighted environment 24 hours a day so that they are kept laying is unnatural and cruel!.
2) Left alone in the natural world, every egg is a potential chicken!.
3) Eggs contain Salmonella (as do chickens)
4) Eggs are sloughed off genetic material designed to produce another chicken like human eggs at the time of menses
5) Eggs are flesh foods
6) High Cholesterol content and concern for your heart's heath
7) Peter Tompkins in the Secret Life of Plants talks about how his plants (hooked up to lie detectors) responded when he broke an egg into his dog's dish!. {SHOCK)
By the way that is a book worth looking at!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Aside from the fact that in most cases, the chickens are kept so tightly in a cage with other chickens that they have broken bones and their feet grow to the wire cage, their beaks have to be cut off (no anasthetic either!) to keep them from pecking each other to death when they go mad, because the temperature and light is toyed with to increase the laying rate (so they think the day is shorter than it is), the male chicks allowed to be born to replace dead battery hens are ground up alive!.!.!.!. Oh wait!.!.!.!. Do I need an aside from that!?

Free-range eggs are often NOT happy chickens running around in the sunlight!. It means they have more than the minimum state required cage space which is none too generous!. And even if they truly ARE happy chickens cavorting in a meadow, why choose to live like a parasite off of another living creature consuming its bodily secretions while the poor animal cannot say yea or nay to the arrangement!. Especially when there are so many alternatives in the world that are healthier and much more yummy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The problem with eggs, including free-range, is the disposal of unwanted male chicks!. Because they don't lay eggs and do not grow fast enough to be raised for meat, they are a financial liability!. A few are used as studs, and the rest are either thrown into trash bags and left to suffocate, or tossed (while living) into a grinder!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

IM A VEGETARIAN TOO AND IM TRYING TO TRANSITION TO BECOME A VEGAN!. EGGS ARE CHICKEN PERIODS, EWWW!. THE CHICKENS ARE TREATED BADLY, SO YOU ARE BASICALLY SUPPORTING ANIMAL CRUELTY, AND IT COULD HAVE BEEN A BABY CHICK!. THEY ARE UNFERTILIZED BUT STILL, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO EAT A CHICKENS PERIOD!?!?!? I KNOW THAT ITS DIFFICULT BUT YOU SHOULD AT LEAST TRY!. THERE ARE MANY EGG SUBSTITUTES THAT YOU CAN BUY THAT TASTE LIKE EGGS AND THEY CAN BE COOKED THE SAME WAY!. WELL, AT LEAST YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING TO HELP, UNLIKE ALL OF THOSE OUT THERE ENJOYING A STEAK, UNAWARE HOW MUCH THE ANIMAL SUFFERED FOR THEIR DINNERS!. I HOPE YOU STICK WITH IT, SOME PEOPLE JUST HAVE A HARDER TIME WITH IT THOUGH!. GOOD LUCK! :DWww@FoodAQ@Com

Don't worry what other people think!. Be a vegetarian for your own reasons!. If you believe that eating an unfertilized egg is murder (I don't see how it is IMHO) then don't!.

However, if you feel that the plain old killing of animals is bad, then being a lacto-ovo vegetarian is not a bad choice!. No animals are being killed in the process!.

If you have a problem with how these animals are being treated to get eggs, etc!. then buy from a local farm that has free range chickens, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is no reason not to eat eggs!. They are very high in nutrition!. If you wanted to be vegan, then you aren't supposed to have anything that came from an animal, including milk or cheese!. It is hard to get all the nutrients you need as a vegan though!. You need a lot of time, information about how to get the proper nutrition, and a lot of discipline!. Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Chris is absolutely correct!.!.!. the eggs in supermarkets are not going to turn into a chicken!.!.!. they are eggs that are not fertilized!

Vegans choose not to eat eggs because they do not believe in eating anything from an animal!.!.!. using an animal for our own needs!. This is why they do not eat milk, honey or use products like wool!.

As for what serious lee said, they are actually a great protein, have lots of great fats (some fats are needed in the body) and they are full of other good nutrients!Www@FoodAQ@Com

it's ok for you to be a vegetarian and to eat eggs, drink milk, have milk products, etc!.
there are ovo-lacto-vegetarians (that eat eggs and milk products), ovo-vegetarians, lacto-vegetarians!.
if you were a vegan, then you'd have to stop eating eggs!.
but it's all about your decision and the way you see things!.
Www@FoodAQ@Com

Mercy For Animals has conducted an undercover investigation at many factory farms; one of them being one of the largest egg farms in America!. Most birds are kept in tiny battery cages where they spend their entire lives in space smaller than a regular piece of paper (8-1/2"x11")!. The chickens are debeaked and their legs often develop raw sores from the wire cages they stand on!. This is no life for an animal!. Cage-free chickens often have the same problems as battery cage chickens only without the cages!. The only humane egg is if you own hens yourself and treat them well!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

You shouldn't eat eggs as it is cruel to the chickens in the way they get them to have them, they are pumped with hormones so they produce many eggs at a time!.!.!.!.if you want to eat eggs go for free range organic eggs!.

You should never feel pressured into eating something or not eating something!. It is your life and you have done well to stick to being veggie from 14!!

Keep going, as you are older you may change and become vegan, this is your choice!.

xxWww@FoodAQ@Com

Well there's a bunch of health arguments on why you should eat eggs!. I don't eat them because I think they're still a product of cruelty and you can never be sure if free range is all it's cracked up to be!. also it really is hard finding stuff without eggs as so much tends to!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Look up "battery cages!." also read up on hot-knife debeaking, forced moulting and the wholesale slaughter of tens of millions of "useless" male chicks every year!. It's an inhumane industry and it provides us with a "food" that we have no dietary requirement for!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well i dont see why to eat eggs!.!.!.!. they are not specially good for health!.!.!. i would say the contrary!.!.!.!. and is also like the chickes period!.!.!.

i dont eat them cuz of the state of the poor chicken that people treats like **** just for explotate them and take away their eggs!.!.!. you should see how they treat chickens!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

when you say 'take' do you mean eat!? eggs are not going to turn into chickens, only fertilised ones do, so eat away!. If its animal wellfair your worried about, buy the free range ones!.!.!. you will be doing your bit for the farmers doing it the right way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Can't think of any good reasons off hand not to take them, just make sure you source them well, whether chicken duck, goose, quail or other v!. tasty , nutritious, convenient and versatile!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a strict vegetarian and I don't consume anything from animals!. I don't eat eggs because I think it's horrible how they treat the mother hen and how they take away the hens choice to give away its baby!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

i was a veggie and i lived on scrambled egg and chips a veagan doesnt eat anythinng animal related products but a veggie just doesnt eats meats an maybe geletin

i love eggss

im 16 tooWww@FoodAQ@Com

Only reason would be they don't like the way chickens are treated on egg farms!.

Go for organic eggs from free range chickens!. They are good and good for you and the chickens don't mind!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i buy organic cage free fed hens!.!.!.so i know they werent abused!.!.!.!.i wouldnt eat eggs if they were!.!.!.!.im vegetarian

however some people dont eat them bc they are high in cholesterol if u eat the whole egg not just the egg whites Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hey, videos like this is what got me to stop:
http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=wHV_rguq8!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I used to be able to handle eggs, but not anymore!. They cause sulfur like smelling farts!. I may eat an egg every other month or so!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

unless you have a problem with eating something from an animal, that isnt its meat then the only other reason is they are high cholestrol!.!.!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

inert protein, 200 mg of cholesterol, no viable mineral or vitamin allotment!.

Www@FoodAQ@Com

They come out of a chicken's poonani, as Ali G would say!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

eggs come from chickens, there fore, it's an animal product!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just think of all those poor little chicken babies you are eating and denying a life to!. Heeeere little chicky chicky!. The bid bad wolf is gonna EAT you <slurp>!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

because they are an animal product and some of them are fertilised = DEAD ANIMAL
also cruelty to animals keeping them caged or if they roam free the egs can get fertilised as above!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
