Answers:
I can only speak for myself!. I didn't like the thought of eating a dead animal!.Plain and simple!.I don't look down on anyone that eats meat!.For me it's not a moral thing or a health thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

its the mixture of reasons!.!.!.and anyways i don't have a problem with cutting meat out of my diet because i didn't grow up eating a lot of meat!.

I do think that what industries do to those animals is just ridiculous though

I'm not even one of those girls who raves about animals but i feel really strongly for those animals in particular if everyone who ate meat from those industries saw what happened to it before it got to their plate they would be thoroughly disgusted, no joke!.

People talk about it all the time but no one fully understands the extent of how sick it is what the animals go through!.

Seriously, not only do these animals get slaughtered in the cheapest way possible- also the most painful way- it is often alive- but there have been numerous accounts of workers torturing the animals just because they can- even molesting them- its so sick!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For the Environment:
The raising of animals for food is the number one contributor to global warming; it creates more greenhouse gases than all forms of transportation combined!.

For My Health:
Animals in industrial situations are routinely given feed laced with pesticides, to decrease the numbers of insects on their feces- a major problem in factory farms!. They are injected with huge amounts of hormones and antibiotics, and these substances can be found in all cuts of meat!.

Meat eaters have higher rates of type 2 diabetes, heart disease all digestive disorders, and colon cancer!.

For the Animals:
Veal crates, battery cages, gestation crates, slaughterhouse practices

okay, let's see!. i'm vegan for alot of reasons!.
basically it all boils down to one!.
animals are not here for us to exploit in any way!.
the animals are treated awfully, in terrible livnig conditions, and animal testing is brutal and unnecessary!. same with leather, wool, fur, and silk!. why do you want to wear a dead animals skin!? f'ing nastyyy!.
anywho thats why!. why are you curious!? just like random or are you considering it or what!?

also, i tend to think it's extremely selfish to live an omnivore diet because you don't NEED that stuff, now we have the technology, and smarts, and resources to eat healthy while being veg!.

and btw!. don't be ignorant [to that random chick up there, not you] if you eat only vegetables your brain gets smaller!. okay, idk about that and im not going to argue that seeing as this is not the place to, and i neve rheard that BUT if you're vegan or vegetarian!.!.!.you obviously don't only eat vegetables -_- goddd someeee people >_<Www@FoodAQ@Com

I first became a vegan for ethical reasons, I did not have access to organic free range meats and eggs and I refused to eat factory farm raised animals and dairy!. Then I stayed a vegan (now raw vegan) because of the FDA, they allow farmers to pump drugs, hormones, steroids, and etc into their animals to flip the meat as fast as possible all because of the mighty dollar!. Now, even though I have access to good meats I will steer clear of all of them for the principle!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Last year when I was eating a turkey sandwich and I just suddenly started thinking about how gross it was and started to research stuff about vegetarianism and how they killed animals!. I thought it was horrible and cruel so I became vegitarian!. Now I have been a vegitarian for a year and I am very happy=]Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am vegetarian because it says in the bible to only eat meat in times of feast or famine and it doesn't seem right that millions of animals die every day when we could clearly do without!. I have been vegetarian for 2 years and I am healthier and have lost 40 pounds since becoming vegetarian, I do however enjoy an occasional steak or shrimp cocktail!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a strict vegetarian for both reasons!.
I think that killing animals is wrong, but I can't stay away from leather and wool, fur is terrible though(in my opinion)!.
I also think that eating a vegan diet is the healthiest thing you can do!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not hahahahahhahahhahahahahhahahahhahaha but I know someone who is and I asked her and she said, "Wipe yourmouth you have food all over it," then she said, "Because of what they do to those poor animals!."Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a vegetarian because I think it's wrong to kill animals and I think that meat is gross, I don't like the taste of it because i was raised vegetarian since birth!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

This was asked yesterday and I answered then:
