Answers:
Unfortunately not; there are just so many of them!. Egg facilities often house hundreds of thousands of hens!. They are typically kept for 18 months to 2 years, but some hens die due to conditions--unable to reach the food or water because her feet grew around the bars of the cage or died during forced molting!. Doing a little back-of-the-envelope math with a few assumptions, let's assume that for every three hens kept in a cage, there are two baby male layer chicks killed!. You would have to rescue hundreds of thousands of chickens!. Every year!. And the two-year lifespan is artifiical because the hens are killed when production declines!.

I don't think there's enough room for anyone to rescue all the birds!. And even the farmed animal sanctuaries don't have the money or the room to keep them!.

The best thing is not to buy eggs or products with them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't eat eggs and try to help others to do the same - that's the most effective thing you can do!.

Other than that, you could try and rescue some of them by finding the nearest breeding farm and just bringing them home, but if you cried just reading about it, I doubt you could bring yourself to sort through a carrier bag of chicks, half of which are dead or diseased!. From personal experience I can tell you that it's pretty disturbing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes , get involved!. Anytime you read something that makes you all sad and want to cry ,write your senator requesting feel better legislation!. down with rooster genocide! Next, you might consider growing a cod sack for yourself!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You wouldn't have room to house all the chicks they suffocate or shred, and allowing you to "rescue" them would be tantamount to admitting that what they were doing was wrong!.

Don't buy eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
