Are you a "quiet" vegetarian/vegan?!

Question: Are you a "quiet" vegetarian/vegan!?
Are you one of those people who only wear t-shirts w/ animal rights slogans on them like "fake for the animals sake"!. Do you make it apart of your life to tell people what they should be eating and how meat is murder!? If you are, why can't you just let them eat in peace!?
I could care less what the person next to me is eating, as long as their meat juices don't get on my bean burrito!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I usually am!. I don't force my dietary choice on others!. But if someone actually asks me why I'm vegetarian, or why I eat this or don't eat that, I am quite happy to tell them in detail!.
Since I don't make remarks about those around me who eat animal flesh, I expect them to keep their "vegetarian" remarks to themselves!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have never been loud!. A lot of these pro-active vegans really really bother me!. I think a lot of them are just crazy, if you just ask them to explain their point of view they totally flip out on you like how dare you ask (they can't even conceive how someone could not agree with them) and there aren't any cons to being a vegan at all which isn't true!. It's true that some commercially raised animals are treated poorly or cruely, but there are much better ways to go about stopping it instead of yelling at normal people that eat meat!. They should be investigating the meat manufacturers and trying to get the government involved instead!. I also think that a lot of the girls who do the "PETA" naked pictures saying that they would rather wear nothing than wear fur are just doing it for attention!. The original concept was good, but now it's being used by everyday girls, not spokes models, as a cheap way to get more attention from especially guys!. If someone wants to eat meat, that's their right living in a free country no matter how gross you think it is!. Just like you can live in a trailer park sitting outside and drink a 12 pack of beer with your beer belly hanging out if you want!.!.!. gross, but it's still legal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a "quiet" vegetarian unless I spot someone openly sprouting crap, then I feel the need to speak up!.

I do not like or respect fundamentalists of any type, whether it be related to religion, politics or food!. I understand that some people have made a choice to be a vegan, but I don't want to hear blatant lies about how the dairy cows in Australia are tortured, when I doubt most of them have never put foot on a dairy farm in Australia!. It's the same reason no-one takes PETA seriously any more, They have damaged their reputation by stretching the truth!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No I'm not!.

People don't have the right to exploit animals!. How is someone's right to eat what they want more important than thousands of animals' lives!? It's Nazism!

Cruelty is killing the planet, too (>18% of all greenhouse gas emissions and countless other effects) and unless mankind gets its act together, we're all going down!.

I talk to people about veganism whenever I can (NOT what they 'should' eat, why veganism is another OPTION - the kind of tactic you suggest does not work!!), leaflet, collect money, get petitions signed!.!.!.

1680 animals are killed each second - how can anyone in their right mind sit idly by!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yeah, I'm quiet!. I only ever really bring it up if it's appropriate (someone asks me to dinner, someone asks me if I want a bite of their burger, etc)!. I like some of the cuter veggie stickers (Pigs Are Friends, Not Food), but I don't loudly advertise that I'm a vegetarian!. To me, my eating habits are more about what I do than who I am!.

I also don't really care what others eat, though there are some things that I really don't like to watch someone else eat b/c I think it's gross!. (This isn't limited to meat, though!.!.!. I'm not vegan and I find it really nasty to watch someone eat an egg that isn't totally solid!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

i like to make my point about why i am vegetarian, i get so wound up when people give me that OMG you have never eaten meat in your whole life!? im like no i havnt!.

then the questions like well what if a vegetarian pizza was delivered to you on a donkey being hit (all questions from boys lol)

and even my mates who say why do you call it a sausage whn it isnt!.!.!. that is when i go on about it!.!.!.

but i dont wear the t shirts, i just sign the petitions qietly and sometime encourage people who are unsure of meat trades to try vegetarianism

so im an in betweener i like to say i am a veggie as i am proud but i dont go all preachy on their ***Www@FoodAQ@Com

Nope!. I wear the shirts (although the fiercest one I have is an Herbivore T that says "Go Vegan or Die"), I do leafleting, and I do encourage people to eat more humane food!. But if we're at an omni place, I won't object to someone eating meat in front of me, as long as they aren't obnoxious about it!.

I'd rather show people delicious vegan food so they see I'm not living a life of deprivation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

How I eat is how I eat!.
If people choose to eat meat, then good for them!.
If people choose to wear fur then by all means!.
I mean, I chose to be vegetarian, why can't they choose to eat meat/wear animal products!?
I think some of the stickers are cute, however would probably never get them!. If I did, I'd never use them!.
People can live the way they want to live, fine by me, as long as they don't push their lifestyle on me!. I'm not pushing mine on them anyways!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no, i'm very quiet!. only my friends at school know!. sure it posses some problems, but i'm an extremely shy person so i don't really care!. i don't pushj my beliefs on others!. however if someone comes up to me and says "hey, i heard you were a vegetarian, and i want to go vegetarian!. do you have any tips!? could you help me out!?" i'd be more than willing to help!. i've already turned one girl into a vegetarian (well, she's pollo now but plans to go full veg) and have other considering it!. all by just being quiet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yeah i tend to be a quiet vegetarian - i dont go on about what is right and wrong and wether we are carnivores or herbivores

the arguments are absolutely pointless and create friction and dont get anywhere!. what people eat is their choice and i dont try to influence anyone!.

as long as that steak is not on my plate i dont care !

Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can't really say i am a quiet vegetarian for the sake that i am a strict vegetarian!. I find it Unbelievably hard to eat near someone eating meat!. I am sorry if i am inconsiderate but that is the way i am and i cant help it if i cant cope with the sad deaths of precious animals!. Thank you!.

I have Only been Vegan for 2 days now!. And i might get some T-shirts like the ones you say!. BUT when i tell other people about why they should not eat meat!. im not going to do it while they are eating!. AND im not gonna go up to strangers and tell him why he should not be eating the steak!. i well just tell friends and family why they should not be eating it!. But Not while there eating Www@FoodAQ@Com

Thanks for your opinion, thinly disguised as a question!.

I don't talk to people about it while they are eating because I think that's rude!. But if someone asks, I am going to share my honest opinion, along with some facts about what it takes to bring a living, breathing creature to their plate!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd say i'm quiet yup, i'd never wear a slogan T-Shirt or preach to somebody even though i believe in it!.

I do taunt my friends with it whenever they're eating meat but only in a joking way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i wear the shirts and i occasionaly put up some fliers!. but i dont force it on people, if they dont want to hear about it i respect that!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yeah I only wear the shirts!. I don't go around yelling at people about it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I guess I'm mostly "quiet"!. I do have a fair amount of animal rights clothing, but I also have more generic environmental themed things, feminist tees and so on!. I don't look at that as telling people what they should be doing!. These are things that I believe in, and naturally, I'd like more people to care about them as I do in order to create a greater chance of positive legislation regarding these issues!. It's not like I go around to random people in public places going "Look! Look at this shirt! Do you get it!? Do you agree, and if not, why, you ignorant bastard!?!" But, a tee shirt can send a strong message!. Most people will blow it off, but for some, it might trigger something & get them really thinking about whatever the issue may be (AR or not)!. In that sense, it's a very easy form of activism!.

I don't generally go around telling people what they should eat, or making stupid comments about what they're eating & that type of thing, because that's childish & not effective!. Although I might come back with something snappy or sarcastic if someone makes a stupid comment about what I'm eating!. The only time I really talk about what I eat & why, or anything else of that nature, is if someone starts asking a few questions, or makes statements that make me think they're genuinely interested!. I've found from experience that the best thing you can do is just to live by example, at least with people you know or come in contact with in your daily life!. Being evangelical is no more attractive as a vegan than as a christian (or any other religious affiliation)!.

I do support more direct forms of activism though, and have been known to participate in them myself!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

im the sort of person who doesnt care at all!.!.!.

im the sort of person who would laugh at youWww@FoodAQ@Com

@^^^nope!.!.!. im a "quiet" carnivotarian^^^@Www@FoodAQ@Com
