I want to become Vegan but now just isn't a good time?!

Question: I want to become Vegan but now just isn't a good time!?
Hey guys,

Hopefully this will be my last question for a while!. :) I tend to ask too much!

Well, I suppose I come here to ask this as way of reassurance, hoping some of you out there will give me some relief and hope!. You know, make me feel okay with my some what of a decision!. :(

So, here it goes!.!.!.

I've tried to become a Vegetarian in the past and I was one for 6 months until I got sent away to a youth group home, (Sorta) well it was hard being there and having three meals a day, (Plus snacks) where everyone else was eating what I didn't want!. So I eventually gave in and started eating meat again!.

I've been eating meat for almost 19 years now, except for those 6 months that I didn't consume it!. I'd wish that I didn't enjoy it but I do!. There's some I don't like, but some I can't see myself not eating!. And I'm not the best person at making decisions, if I could, I'd have somebody do it for me and tell me what to do, every second of the day, sadly I haven't found someone to do so yet!. ;-)

Anyway, it's sad to see how these animals suffer, seeing painful videos of what they go through for us to have meat and other animal products!. A lot of discussions say well "God" intended for us to all be Vegetarian\Vegan and then a lot say he told us to eat meat!. So, it's very confusing for me, (I don't believe in "God", so it's not like I'm trying to go about what "He" wants\wanted us to do, just saying!.) If he wanted us to eat meat I'm sure it would've been in a nature-like way, when the animals die off, you'd eat em' that way!. But not the way they are going now, in the factory farming industry, etc!.

And so on!.!.!.

I hate making desicions and this one is a big desicion, I've seen parents with their kids who are even Vegan!. Way to go to the little peoples! To think that they can do it, I feel guilty that I cannot, not so much as I can't as in I won't!. I want to though, don't get me wrong!.!.!.just don't think it's time now, I'll get into that in a minute!. I sure do wish I had parents when I was little to be Vegan or at least would have told me how it was with the animals and then maybe I would have gotten to decide then on what was best to do, maybe the factory farming wasn't as bad as then, who knows!.!.!.

So, basically I want to know if what I am doing is right by someone else's eyes and point of view, or if I am just a bad person and wrong for how I feel or something like that!. >!.<

I really want to become a Vegan and I tried two days ago until I ate a chicken sandwich today!. Some people say go cold turkey, some people say gradually, or what ever best suits you!.!.!.my Aunt knew some friends that went cold turkey and it didn't go to well with them, so she let me go Vegetarian for a while again and that didn't work out so well because I felt like I was eating the same, maybe just a little less, didn't like it anyway so I decided to go cold turkey!. Well I ended up not eating for three days straight because it got me so upset, I cried, had headaches and decided just not to eat anything at all!. She told me maybe it wasn't the best time to carry on with this if I was going to be so stressed about it and until I get some other stuff straightened out!.

I do have a lot of problems, (Not to nag or brag, just something to go along with all of this) such as!.!.!.No period for 9 months, disappearig mind, (VERY forgetful, affecting everyone around me), 30-40 extra pounds, Skin conditon possibly, Teeth-rotting-decay possibly-lots of cavaties that I know of, Mental health problem(s)!. Anti-socialness, haven't been to a Doctor in 6-7 years!. My eye sight is pretty bad, needed glasses since I was a small child, never really got used to them!. On top of most of these problems, I pretty much have a death date, but am trying to get around to getting some help, so I won't have to go through with that!. :) There is probably more but already this thing is really long! Well on top of all of this I have seen Pshychiatrist before and Counselors but I haven't in about 4-5-6 years and I know that I need to get all of this taken care of, just my issues!.

Main thing is, I want to go Vegan!. Am I just whining and excusing myself out of going Vegan or do you think I really need to get other things straighten out first and then try to switch over!? I know what people talk about and I know what people say about Vegan's and what Vegan's say about others and so on, even if it doesn't feel like Vegan's and Vegetarians and other's that aren't eating meat aren't saving an animals life, they are!. One person becoming a Vegan isn't trying to save all the animals, they're trying to show you how healthy it can be for more people to switch over, so that we actually will save more animals and be healthier!. And more of people that become non meat eater's will eventually save all of the animals, but anyway!.!.!.moving along!.

I know, I tend to jump all around, crazy style in my writing, sorry! So will anyone tell me that I'm not a bad person for waitiWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
If you cannot be vegan and happy at the same time, do not be vegan!.

It doesn't really make veganism look good if you seem forced into it and you're an emotional wreck during the period that you are trying it!.

It sounds like you have a lot going on in your life right now!. There is no pressure for anyone to go vegan so in your case you are definitely free of any guilt!.

If you still feel that you must go vegan, you should really go over a few things and share them with your aunt or whoever you live with!.

Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies can easily offer everything that you need except B12!.

All vegetarians should take a B12 supplement regularly since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yet still have a B12 status that is lower than recommended!.

It may help if you see proof that vegetarian people have the same potential as anyone else!.

If you need meat or dairy during any stage of your life or to live any certain lifestyle, why does the American Dietetic Association say otherwise!?

You know I kind of became a vegetarian by proxy!. I was not against the eating of meat, I just became suspicious of the industry!. I could write a book but will keep this short!. I did and do not think for one second that growth hormones are good for humans!. I am sure mad cow is rampant and is so majorly covered up that people die from it regularly while it is labelled and diagnosed as something else!. Remember what the cattle association ( cowboy union or what ever they are calling themselves) did to Oprah!? She merely stated a truth that made them look bad!. God created all so all is good to eat!. It's man's screwing around like genetically modifying , adding hormones to maximize profits etc!. that we have to worry about!.!.!.Mary!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If something like this don't help you, I don't know what to say!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

as a student at australias top university studyng molecular bilogy and genetics i was updated very recently that the 'cow' and the 'chicken'are no longer classdified as 'animals'!.
its a better time then ever to become vegan!

doesnt sound as though you are commited however!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

((((HUGS)))))

Do what makes you happy!.

If you do decide that you want to go vegan, you dont have to do it over night!. Try cutting out a few things here and there, and looking for other things to replace it!. Going cold turkey never works!. And then when you have worked out the being vegetarian part, go vegan!. But do it slowly, in a time frame that suits you, and dont let any of the extremist fundies guilt you into doing what your not ready to do!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

for me it would never work, for some it does!.But just because some one else says to do it does not mean that every one should!. some people just need a certain amount meat in a diet'sWww@FoodAQ@Com

If you really want to become a vegan, find some others in your area !support group!!
Seriously if you want to be one be one!
Kosher animals are best for meat eating in my mind!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A vegan diet is unhealthy and unnatural!. And it will probably do little to decrease the suffering of animals!. It certainly won't do anything to improve your mental state!.

Honestly, it looks like you have bigger problems than diet!. I'm not a psychologist, but if I had to guess, it seems that you feel that everything is out of control in your life and that diet is the one thing that you CAN control!. It's a similar pattern in anorexia and bulemia!. Orthorexia is no different!.

No special diet is going to solve your problems!. It sounds like you need counseling more than anything else!. Please seek professional help before you embark on any extreme diet!. Eat well and exercise and get some sunlight to help improve your mood!. I have been taking fish oil capsules for a while now and I have noticed they help improve my mood!.

If you are worried about 'mass producing animal factories and cruelty' try buying local and organic meat from your farmers market!. The animals come from an actual farm, are not loaded up with antibiotics, growth hormones and fed pesticide laden feed!. The animals are also treated humanely!. There once was a time, believe it or not, that food (meat or veggie) was respected and prayed for! Supporting organic and local keeps this tradition alive!.

If you are merely worried about nutrition try following the food pyramid!. That's why it was designed! It also wouldn't hurt to consult your family doctor or a nutritionist whichever way you decide to go!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
